Started painting fuel tank. Of course weather has gone to hell so im delayed on that project.

Really Ideal paint IME is in the 80s. It was probably in the 70s with direct sun exposure. And lets be real, its a fuel tank. Most people wouldn't notice if it weren't there. Lol

So progress was thwarted last night with wrong parts plague. Decided to work the carpet kit. When installing my snap kit i found this...
I have not contacted the vendor yet, its the weekend. Hopefully this will be a painless ordeal.

Progress. Fuel tank in. Fuel pumo installed with spacer. Going to plug away on carpet snaps today.

Man, those last few updates !...

Are you in CA or OR? I noticed that you had 2 sets of black plates, Im still looking for a set for mine because the original plates for mine are trashed and the DMV wont let me use them

Im glad you decided to leave it original. It will be nice having a cool cruiser and hopefully a second one eventually with something wild under the hood

I can toss you this one set of blacks. They may or may not be "aged" enough to reuse yet

Trying to get back to this project.

In typical fashion im immediately stopped by need for rubber parts.
Finding datsunparts closed until August 1st? Come awn.

Im looking for heater hose through firewall grommets and the grommets on the heater box assembly. I really only need the grommet for the light wires.
Need yesterday. I also need one heater box spring clamp.

Im also planning on moving this car in the next 12-18 months.
We're are planning to move within that same time period.

Sadly ive found this vehicle is not really my flavor. Frankly the parts chase/price thing is ridiculously frustrating.
Coming from a world where i normally get parts within a couple days and have a choice of several vendors, this just isn't really working for me. That and I don't really think that the prices/quality of parts match.

Doomed from the beginning... probably a blessing In disguise since this car is wayyyyy more valuable both historically and monitarily in stock form vs engine swapped and resto modded. What a rare gem. 1 family owned VERY rare automobile, wow unicorns do exist! It looks like you did very nice work before giving up. I wish I had the space, time, and cash I would be all over this missed opportunity. Glws.

Gnob, you left out the primer step of your trunk. What did you use?
