I had a great time going up to Mt Diablo state park. And the test drive at Daves garage was a blast! I got to finally drive a 67 Vette which I always wanted to do and rode in some other really great cars. Also I met some great people with Roadsters. And I got home without any real issues which is always a plus.

That was a blast, and great to cap it off at the world-class Blackhawk Auto Museum....you meet such nice people in Roadsters! Nine wonderful Roadsters is a great turnout (way to go, NorCal !), ranging from an original 1600 owned 41 years by one couple (Neil and Jackie) to the modded wonders driven by Ken and Eddie. Wow, those engine swapped cars are hard to resist! All great car people...thanks to you all for coming all the way to Danville!

Dave
Thank you for letting us enjoy your personal collection of cars. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity. It was a great suggestion for the ride up Mt Diablo.

Awesome event Dave..Thank You for organizing and hosting it..
Thank You for your hospitality in letting us drive your collection.
And what an awesome collection of sports cars.
Lets do it again next week..
And as usual great blog Alvin..Great to see the Sora Blue up and running..
Here are some pictures...

Sunday Morning....at around 9am...at the Pre-Fun Run in San Jose..Mike got there first in his clean 67.5..then to my surprise Alvin drove up in the the Sora Blue roadster.

I'm liking them new shoes..

Then Eddie arrived in his SR20 powered roadster.

Then to our surprise Stacey drove in with this 70 SRL.

We did the introductions and then at around 9:15am...we headed north..

Alvin is really eager to get to Dave's garage..

Stacey didn't want to mess up his hair today..

Check out Marmaduke(Ginny) in the back..

I'm loving Mike's led tail light upgrade...I can see him for miles..

Here is Eddie racing a Lambo..

We all got to the meeting place and I got to meet more new people including Dave..

We grew to 9 roadsters...

Ken even made it to the meeting place with his supercharged powered roadster.

Of course everyone had to check it out..

Alvin showing off pictures of his little girl to Sheri.

Ok..off to Dave's garage..
More pictures to come..

Now at Dave's garage...

First car that greets you in the garage is the Fisker electric car...

Just in case you didn't trust my spelling..

Alvin approved...

This is a one off BMW powered Fisker. They were supposed to make 150, but someone at the factory broke the mold..so this is the only one.

Ahhhh...the Aston Martin Vantage...This is the one that I really really wanted to drive.
Que the James Bond theme song....
Hey wheres the Bond girl?

Dave drove the cars out of his garage one at a time..

Check out this classic vette..

Leo got to the Aston first...Damn him...

Here he is with the biggest grin...

Luckily in no time, it was time to switch drivers...buwahaaaaaa

Then when it was time to switch again, I got stuck driving this Black Porsche..LOL...
Like it was a bad thing...This is Dave's track car and it was fast...First time driving a Porsche too..

More driving and switching drivers..It was so much fun...

Here is Mike, just before he drove the Fisker...well he had to figure out how to start it first.
Damn technology..

Here we all are after the drive talking about our favorites..

And of course we had to put them all back inside Dave's garage..A couple of cars tried to stay out longer, but we eventually found them.
Stay tune...more pictures of the actual Fun Run in our roadsters..

Today's Roadster Run was, hands-down, the most FUN of all fun runs that I've attended as a Roadster owner. I can't speak enough about Dave_Car_Guy's generosity in sharing his personal car collection with the rest of us. It was almost unfathomable that someone tossed me the keys to their $$$ exotic car(s) and told me to "go at it".... like someone mentioned at the meet, it felt like we were all in an episode of "Top Gear". I got to drive the following automotive marvels and here are my impressions...
Porsche Cayman (Dave's Track car): outfitted with JRZ suspension, this Porsche felt super-nimble and extremely agile. And the 3.4L(?) at WOT made for an amazing hooowwwl while passing this mini-van that got in my way.
Fisker Latigo CS: Read and learn about the uniqueness
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fisker_Latigo_CS
BMW S85 V-10 (MPower) engine
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_S85 with tweaks from RD Sport.
Dave had me paddle-shifting through the ranges while encouraging me to mash the throttle!!!
The rarity of this car, from the cosmetic appearance to it's pedigree, made it stand out in my BMW-enthusiast mind.
Fisker Karma: Technological marvel for sure! But this was the one car where I didn't care if the acceleration pinned me to the seat or if it handled like a go-kart on rails..... I was enamored by the "curves" of this shapely sedan. The lines on this car were beautiful and when driving, I found myself taking glances at the curves of the (front/rear) fenders while still making absolutely sure that I didn't steer this car into a ditch.
Here's the album with our photo contribution of today's Fun Run.

My wife, Shari, and I had a blast and I was giddy like a schoolboy afterwards while recapping the event. Ginny the Dog (aka Marmaduke) didn't complain much but I think she would prefer a larger car.
