That's a fairly old pic I believe. Also I think that car got hit? Seem to recall that.

And I think the air dam underneath was some kind of yard trimming or other type material. I love the bumper, and had purchased two sets of front bumpers to cut and weld so I could do the same. Ended up staying with the stock looking bumper without the over riders.

Here we go with a Long post because I procrastinate uploading pics.
I got the rear axle redone, Yes I do all my work in the parking lot. I know why it was leaking even though I replaced the seals months ago. I overfilled the differential and the breather bolt was super dirty.


Got the bearings off and on with a hydraulic press at the hobby shop on base. Those things get scary with the pressure building.
While the tire were off I took a dremel steel wool bit and cleaned the face of the wheels. Looks a lot better.

Yesterday I Drove 2 hours to Marks new shop. Car runs great on long trips, bumps are getting squirrely

I'm glad he brought his turbo roadster.


His car is very tastefully done and the color looks super in person.
Not to mention It rips. I wish it had headrests it pulled so hard. The blow off noise sounded great.
He cut the exhaust holes and welded in ovalized pipes for enforcement. It ended up perfect for a 2.25 exhaust to slide threw with wiggle room.

My header is pretty close to the frame, but it hasn't knocked since I got the idle dialed in

Next is exhaust shop.
then new upper and lower ball bearing and front suspension.
then a radio, I took a measurement of my extra face plate with the radio bar cut out. It is a perfect fit of the retrosound radios, but I'm waiting for there push button radios to come out.
Lots more stuff to do.

Almost forgot the ride home took 3hrs because of a huge fire on 80 was slowing traffic. It got super close to the road that I felt the heat. I got a video but it takes forever to load. Ended up with a pretty good sunburn. An the car stayed perfect temp the whole time.(or my gauge was stuck)

Sounds like you are just about ready to come out and do some autoX. The distance to Marks shop is probably about the same as going to Marina to run with NorCal UFO. Next race is Aug 28th, or tomorrow, but I'm guessing you aren't ready to go for tomorrow.

Speaking of, did you ever get your wheel studs fixed. Stripped wheel studs are bad news.

One front stud still needs replaced. I have the new one and am going to knock it out when I do the front brakes. Found out the ball joints are bad causing bad tire wear on the inside. So will be getting those fixed with front suspension upgrade should set the car up pretty good. Will, make sure you get some pics in action with the new wheels.

Oh yeah, 2" exhaust with a magnaflow. Car sounds plain Mean. The megaphone on the end turned out cool.
Stock looking, not stock performance. Still need to sell that Cadillac in the background to fund my front suspension. The ball joints are toast, and I want to do it all at once, mike young springs, shocks, sway bar, should set the car up pretty good. But that means saving up to get it all at once. Not driving to far until its done, front tires are getting chewed up on the inside.

Just won a 23mm sway bar on ebay and am ordering shocks, lower ball joints, and brakes tomorrow. Been slowly gathering parts lately The door cups and visors make it feel nicer inside. And took my time spray painting the front bumper that was sitting in my spare room. Krylon bright silver with clear, looks pretty good for a daily driver. Replaced front brake pads and wheel stud also.

Good score on the sway bar! I was watching that but was a little slow on getting the bid in.mglad it's going to a great car!

Yeah got lucky spotting it close to the end. Saves me enough money for the comp brake shoes. The seller had a nice touch showing a pic with the micrometer on it. I just wish I had a place to sand some of the trouble spots off and spray paint on my car. I don't think the neighbors would like me painting near their cars. Just want to get the big paint flakes off the car.
Edit: Also while I was there SS brake lines.
