Okay, I've already done this privately, but now the public shaming begins, pal. ;-)

C'mon Tim, lets hear some noise!!!!

Let's face it. Tim is usually the first to "This thread is worthless without photos" somebody, right??
Okay, in this case it is worthless without sound bites.
Challenge accepted?

On topic, flushed clutch hydraulics and brakes this weekend on my '67.

Packed up my spares in preparation for a move to the new house. My goal was to finish enough to drive it up there but I caught myself making the same old shortcuts that have gotten me into trouble years later. I decided to put it all on hold until the move is complete and the new garage established.

Bumpers fitted, grill fitted, wiring looms fitted and some electrical components fitted to the engine bay.
Measured all the rigid hydraulic lines so I can buy new and shape them up.
1/4" fuel line total is 3480mm long and total of the 3/16" brake and clutch lines is 6880mm, if you want to use that info. at your next quiz night :)

I used a string line and clothes pegs to accurately measure the length of the original rigid lines.

And I did it inside by the gas space heater, too freakin' cold outside

Lubed the front end, flipped my incorrectly installed (by me) center link rod so I can reach the greese nipples, filled my new steering box with gear oil, filled the trans with Swepco gear oil (thanks Will for the suggestion), installed hood rubber bumpers (thanks Ross!), installed the new rear wiring harness (thanks Curtis!), ordered speed bleeders, and installed both the emergency hood and trunk releases (zip ties and a hole drilled... a few minutes of effort that is very well worth doing after watching a couple POUND out their broken trunk latch at Shasta). Sooooo much left to do if I'm gonna make the Shedd BBQ...

Today is work on Greg's harness day so he can use it and I can get it off my floor and quit procrastinating this week. Too many other obligations this week and too hot in my house.

I took her out for her first real drink in more than 20 years. It was my fault she wasn't wearing hub caps, so I guess some guy thought she might be easy. He hit on her with the old line "My first car was a '68 1600, I loved that car." Like she never heard that before.

I took my 67 2000 roadster, SRL311-00697, out for a short drive this evening. I've been working on the fuel gauge and needed to go fill her up to check my work. Not really, but a good excuse to get out!! The car ran great!! She's a SU 2 liter.

Too me, it's not a successful outing without someone commenting in some positive way!!

In the last week I have....

had a 2" exhaust installed (pics posted some day but it is not that big a deal)
installed a wideband O2 sensor
fixed an oil leak at the fuel pump
adjusted the timing a few times
twiddled with the carbs a crap load of times
broken in the cam shaft
adjusted the valves (need to do again I think)
and put the first 100 break in miles on the odometer.

It is real bloody hard to stay under 3000rpm you know?

Spent Sunday w/Teddy S a local roadster guru who is only like 15 minutes from my house. We did a compression check (170-180), checked the timing, new plugs, points, set the gap, condenser, cap, rotor, plugs and dialed in the carbs. She fired up effortlessly.

So I declared it 'Take your Roadster to work day' and drove her in.
