I think the summer/ winter valve is brass alloy, (hi zinc, lead, tin, and arsenic content).

This picture is out of date. It does not show the new "whoo hoo" relief valve update!

Seems I'd be getting lots of demerits for what I'd planned.

FWIW the trim is 'stainless" not chrome. Good to seriously polish before install.

And there should be 8 pieces, top/bottom/left/right and 4 corners.

Best as I know, you have to pull the windshield, insert the trim and then reinstall.

Close to impossible to do this with rubber gasket/weathersrtip in place.

Hood rattles excessively
Any idea to cure this?

Is it the prop rod or the hood? The hood itself shouldn't rattle unless you are missing the rubber bumpers at the top corners.

The relief valve is the dry rot heater hose that explodes and shoots coolant all over the exhaust header.

Hi Peter, thanks for the reply. I was actually referring to the single piece of trim that goes with the interior trim pieces of the windscreen frame and I believe is unique to 68-69 cars. Have not seen one in person and just want an example before I start the project.

There are also FOUR rubber 'spacers' that go under the hood to minimize rattling.

I think also that there is an adjustment on the hood latch (hood size) that can tighten tension between hood and body.

Are all fender bolts/nuts tight?

Are the correct fasteners in place to hold the hood in place? They should be "special" shoulder bolts, they act like a hinge. Mine are Allen head on one end, about an inch of shoulder, with a nut and lock washer on the other end. If they are undersized diameter or threaded, they can become loose and allow some rattle. Fender adjustment and clearance will determine effectiveness of the rubber bumpers. Because of fairly large gaps, mine don't do exactly what they should, but I have it pulled down tight at the latch to keep it from moving/rattling.

From what I have read here, the stainless strip is specific to 69 only.
It is located forward of the upper pinch weld.
If there are no holes drilled in your upper pinch weld/ windsheild frame, it most likely never had one.
I do have a spare I can bring with
