The Dimmer Curtis linked can be found on Amazon (Prime) as well. $6-7 cheaper. Seems to be the best deal going.

It comes with instructions to wire it two or three ways.

Has anyone tried to use dimmable LED bulbs with the stock dimmer rheostat?

Such as: https://www.aero-lites.com/product-page/53F

I know they won't have infinite dimming levels but wonder if they would have a couple at least.

Edit: oops already discussed above. I thought this was a new thread.

I'm pretty sure with the stock rheostat LEDS are either on or off.

Curtis used this to get a dimmer function from LED's. He has early cars and was able to get the original rheo. knob to work with the new switch. No idea if that is true for later cars.

Yes, I’m sure the ability to dim will also vary greatly with different models/makers of LEDs. I may order a set of these to see if they work any differently.
