We had a blast, got home an hour ago. It was great to meet new people, see old friends and see the cars, mostly red and silver. The rainbow, then double rainbow over the cars was really amazing. there should be dozens of pics from people there.
Fred Davidson has been to every one of the Watkins Glen Roadster events, 31 in a row. Mike Jennings, we think missed only 1 or 2 and Jack hasn't missed many. Carl lives there, went to the first and then missed 20 or more in a row
.
Woody blew up his rear axle for the 4th time on the way with the trophys, so we'll need to mail them, Mike Jennings brought some vintage backup awards for dinner. Overall great event, slightly rainy.
I'll post the winners tomorrow, just unpacking
I have to apologize for my leadership skills on the road trip, after Joe and Joe led us over to Keuka lake for lunch there was an unfortunate and odd mechanical failure that caused my car to do some donuts in Hammondsport
Large empty clay/gravel parking lot, slightly wet...perfect. Then everyone going back to Watkins was following me. It would have been easier for them if my right turn signal socket hadn't fallen out of the tail lamp, but did keep Mike on his toes. (And I do think Joe and Joe drove faster)
