The thinest is the way to go
And some that are secured in place a mat that moves is a big problem on a manual trans
The kind that has there own small carpet pad in the plastic / vinyl

From a different thread pebbles recommended these on the cheap. Second link shows pictures of the fit. A bit too narrow at the firewall. It looks like you could maybe reverse the mat 180 degrees and have the wider part of the mat at the firewall for better carpet protection from accelerator peddle heel rub.
