i always liked the rear deck clean, without a luggage rack

what are your plans for the underside of the hood? full body color finish?undercoating?

Shiny black under hood and trunk. Top half of the car will be black. Under hood has the tar coat, it's in good shape. At some point the hood release cable failed,,,someone used a crowbar :Tosser: I'm guessing more than once, cowl and latch receiver area is whacked pretty good. I'll get it cleaned up and get the latch working properly.
The trunk is in good shape, no rust, but the holes are huge. I cut a few pieces from the hulkster, and tacked them in. I prefer the smooth lid too, carrier looked funny/odd in relation to the VTOs.

I wonder why the roll bar is so short?

OMG Linda.

Don't let them touch your car with 80 grit.

IMHO, You might want to remove lead and old bondo with 80 grit, maybe rough out a first coat of bondo. but it going to leave DEEP gouges that will need filling.

Phil

I think your right Phil. the body is soft. cuts like budduh. Ive had to "demonstate care" in roughing out for filler. My tried and true process that has worked for me in the past, is a bit too agressive for the roadster tin. One wrong turn on an edge and whoooop! Duraglass doesnt want to adhere very well either  even after etching. I thought it would be similar to the Z tin. not.
3000 sounds like a good deal Will.

I wish it were that easy...well it is, sort of. Time, money, and resources.
Starting off with the least amount of rust, and the straightest metal possible, is best.
I would like to turn a blind eye to Andys old bodywork, but Im there, its real, so there is no ignoring less than good bodywork.
Black art,,,,,,,,,I like that.

A wise man once said,,,"flat black and drive it,,,,,"
What have I done,,now Ive got the door off, hinges off,, disconnecting wires,,,there was only one bolt attaching the fender to the A pillar, so it had to be done. I will be patching the rocker too.
At least the headlight beam wont jiggle at night.

This old pole building was built back in 72, just put a new roof on this summer. Alotta junk has rolled in and outa,,,,oops not out ,,,of here.
I cut and stacked 4 chord of wood too. Hope it lasts till April. ah the sacrifices we make for the roadsters.

You're doing a great job! And thanks for the pictures.

4 cords huh, I've only got 2 split and stacked so far. I just don't care for running my saw or splitter in the rain anymore. Gettin' old.

Thanks Bill. I always wanted to paint a roadster,,since I was 20, only took 32 years!

2 wheelbarrows a day,,,it took me three months.

Ive given up on raking leaves myself.

Mr Scanlon got me thinking, (too much bondo thread) as I pulled the left fender/guard off to repair the rocker, it is conclusive that the A pillar attach points common to the guard/fender are too far gone.
At least The welder is tuned in for roadster tin.

Cool, stuff. You going with the zoadster vent rectangles on the side and black top half? I liked that one because it would be unique but still very roadster.

Changing of the guard.
After removing the old guard, and cutting the rocker, It looks pretty good in there,(relative).
So rather than fumbling with a "frankie" fender, a replacement has been expedited. Preliminary fit is acceptable.
Autumn Leaves for Linda
