I know it's kinda late, but does anybody have a decent trunk lid (for a '70) for sale they'd be willing to bring to Solvang? I need one without rust holes! Already got two of those. Don't mind a little bodywork. Posting in classifieds too.

Thanks in advance

I'm trying to convince Datsun1500 to drive out with me next year, in one or both 1500's. It would be a LONG drive, but interesting.

Chris Breyer is buying me $10.00 worth of raffle tickets, with Phil not there the possibility to win something is probably tripled. Someone keep an eye out, let me know if he wins anything!! :D :D
Hope everyone has a great time!

Solvang was awesome, didn't get to spend as much time as I would like with the cars (had a long ride afterwards.)
I was planning on bringing my datsun but a fuel filter clogged and quit at a gas station. By the time me and my friend found the problem it was getting late, so safety reasons we took the scion. Made the ride comfy, I still got a hat and some bumper guards. Alsosome good tips about never having enough fuel filters handy. Wife had fun at all the stores too!

This was my first Solvang and despite getting to the show about an hour late(due to a bad fuel pump) I had a fantastic time! It was great to put a face to the names on this forum. I have attached a few pictures from this weekend but it will be nothing compared to what Alvin will post later! I saw him snapping away most of the day Saturday. I am already looking forward to next year!!

I am doing a write-up on zcarblog but there are a bunch of things I'd can only share with you guys :)
full album here:

With a baby on the way and my Z33 is track mode I decided to play it safe and take another type of Fairlady:
Image
My wife's family drove up from San Diego and we all met in Solvang on Sat.
highlights:
There was an entire fabb'd up roadster chassis with tubular front susp/r&P steering, link'd rear end. A 2011 Mustang V8(430hp stock) will be the drivetrain. The fabricator wants to market this to roadster owners. Cost?

Kevin Desirello performed an SR-swap on his U20-powered '69 in 10 days! He loves the new powerplant and its performance:
Image
He also did an engine swap for Gary Wasserman(in-progress):

Z3 seats:

What's really cool about Garys swap are the gauges. These are factory gauges that have been given the Jon Frampton treatment! Full electronic function!!! Note the digital odometer. Brilliant.
Image
My first time seeing the ECO-Tec roadster:
Image
White-faces Classic Instrument gauges gave it this cool 50's feel!
Image
speaking of cool there was an a/c unit in the back!
got to meet Brian in person:

The weather was perfect:

Keith W tuned several sets of carbs...someone give this man some ice-cream
Image
Another example of Frampton's work. '66 gauges "electrified" to work with the S14 SR20 swap in Kevin Desirello's mom's roadster:

Mike Young's Dazzlng 67.5 SRL (I heard he won best of show!)

Linda seemed to be popping up in all of my photos:

Honeybee!
Image
Jeff Torres' fresh mikuni's on his stroked R16!!!
Image
It was good to see Eddie and his '66 SR20, I heard he won an award too!
Image
Paul's SRL, we actually caught him towing on the freeway, see picture in album!!
Image
Will Carlos Vercelli decide on a set of carbs already!!!
Image
L-series roadster:

This was one of my favorite high windsheild cars, the paint and resto were very to notch:
Image

Lots of cool pickups/510s/Z's
Image
Great folks, Shannon, Chuck, Bill, Richard, Stan, Mark, Tom, Herb, Paul, Jim it was good seeing everyone

Thanks to Jeff and Gabby for putting on the show again!
I took some really cool videos of the cars leaving the group photo to give people an idea of the show...will be on the blog soon

Thanks for sharing all the photos. It has been years since i was at solvang, in fact my parents from Seattle went with me in a Dodge Caravan back in '86 or '87 and that was the last time. I can't make Shasta this year either due to a wedding, so it is nice to see some familiar faces. We had some Solvang, So CA weather here on Sunday in your honor (but my car slept through it... got airbox work to do first). Congrats on a great show and lots of good Roadster people.

Nice photos from everyone. I regret missing it, next time I won't try to be so responsible. 2012 is the 25th annual, so EVERYONE should get there and let it be the year for 100 Roadsters, unless the world really does end this month (again).

Yes Alvin,

You did get photographic evidence of me towing my car on the freeway but being I brought it in on the trailer to the show (and then couldn't get it off the trailer due to the locked up rear brakes), I'm don't think I "pulled" anything over on anyone! :D

And if that wasn't enough, losing the clutch and having to push it back on the trailer probably sealed the deal. Thanks to all who helped move it in both directions! But seriously, Jeff, I think the "rough diamond" class is a great idea (and not just because I took 1st place). It is what convinced me to haul my roadster down to Solvang.

I look at all the other beautiful cars at the show and in many ways, mine can't hold a candle to them. But for me, my car is beautiful in its' own way and I received a number of comments from other roadster owners that tells me they understand why I like my roadster even with a 1980 paint job, custom built wood center console, 26 year old front spoiler experiment, brake fluid altered paint job and rust spots.
