Saturday (5/18) was my 30th anniversary of owning my car (bought it when I was in high school). I was out of town so I didn't do anything for it on Saturday, but yesterday I actually did do something, albeit minor, to the car. My driver's side window has never had the track that the window slides up and down in for as long as I owned my car. Window always rattled. Well, 10 years ago I bought a used window track and never installed it because one of the bolts that was still on the car that was supposed to attach to window track was rusted so much it would turn. Finally decided to fix this issue so took out hand grinder with cut-off wheel and cut screw/bolt off of car. Installed new window track and hey, the window actually moves up and down with no rattle!
Now, don't think that I am actually treating my car well, as I have neglected it for years. But at least it's a start!

Went for a little drive in the country, and realized just a little too late that my fuel guage was correct, and I was out of gas. She sputtered to a halt just across the street from a station. If it hadn't been an up hill coast, I would have made it.
Running better with each little tweak to her new Z-Therapy carbs.

@orangedawg
our cars appreciate these small acts of kindness - and fixing window rattling keeps owner and car happy.
that's what being a caretaker is all about.
congrats

Installed new radiator, new water pump, new radiator hoses and new fan belt. Cooling system should be good to go.

I ignored my 69 in order to track down this 67.5 and bring it home. The 69 won't even let it in the garage next to it, she insists that I find out if all the rat poop belongs to a living breathing resident or it's just left overs. This car has been sitting since 1990 waiting to be saved. Heres a few pics for now, more to come.

Stripped all the hydraulic line fittings off the rigid lines so I can plate them.
Ditto for the fuel line.
Seat webbing clips prepared for plating.
Made up 4 heat shields for the exhaust pipe pretzel bracket insulators.
This, hopefully, should be the last batch of plating I need to do
Seat frames are all ready to go to the Motor Trimmers, just need to decide on which vinyl to choose
I have ordered a dash pad replacement from a guy in Queensland Oz.
I will try to match the vinyl on the pad to use on the remainder of the interior.
Got week or so off while the panels are being trial fitted, so I will do some checking and make sure all my outsourced jobs are happening: -
Chroming
Instrument restoration
and anything else I have forgotten about
Entry to the Bay To Birdwood Classic Rally is in the post so we'll see if they are impressed with the resto. at it's current stage: -
Hey, the entry form wanted a CURRENT picture of the car!
Apparently, some folk were entering one car on paper and rolling up with a different car!
There is always someone out to spoil it for us honest folk
By the middle of June, I will have the biggest assembly job I have ever attempted.
Fingers crossed, my parts inventory should cover the entire job.
You'll hear about any shortages, trust me

Installed my rebuild supercharger!!! yeah!!!!!
I've been about 3 months without my roadster. Fortunately I discovered during this time my master cylinder is leaking and needs attention. So I still don't get to drive her yet.....

I finished laying down a $20 piece of carpet from Lowes. It is just to get me by until my real carpet kit comes from Les (in Vista). I had previously laid down sound dampener and I didn't want to risk messing it up, so I used the $20 6x8 feet carpet roll sold from Lowes. It looks really good. If I ever needed cheap carpet, I would do it again.
I also re-strapped the bottom of my drivers seat. I had previously purchased some Pirelli webbing and some seat hardware from (jrusso07 & mraitch) but I never used any of it yet. Mostly too lazy and waiting on my new upholstery . When I had removed my seat for the carpet I saw a broken strapped. As I was going to replace just it....one thing led to another and I redid the 4 long strips. Wow is my seat comfy now!

Curtis and I (well, pretty much Curtis... I am ignorant about wiring!) laid out the lengths etc for the new harnesses. Man he's doing nice work. He beat me about the head and shoulders when i talked about scabbing wires on here and there later!
We talked R-16 stroker EFI turbo as a motor in his future... Man that would be fun... Just something different...

Yes, I thrashed him a little. He started to sound like a previous owner scenario. I'll be quite happy to have my part of the project done and see his blinkers work for the first time in 28 years.

I finally installed the glove compartment and removed the rollbar. Tried the other bar, too low, so I'm running without. It was mostly a feel-good thing, not really protection. Polished the wheels and valve cover, and now it hurts to type.

On the East Coast, turn signals are mostly optional. Gary's have never worked as far as I know, but if you're going 20 mph faster than everyone else, who needs signals.

Today (well, laying awake at 1:30 am this morning) I figured out how do to the linkage for my new webers. Yea!! I thought I needed to use all the parts that were in the kit AND the linkage parts that came already installed on the carbies. I realized that I don't need all of it. Over thinking stuff again.
One more step forward.

Yesterday I had four helicopter mechanics in my garage helping out. Made some good progress on the suspension and brakes. All it cost me was some pizza.
