I agree that 118 is low. I think the dyno tuner didn't optomize the tune. I'm going to experiment with it myself and see if I can improve it.

Sorry, it was a Dynojet with steady state tuning capability.

I emailed the dyno file to you. The file size is too big for uploading to this forum.
Update: the email bounced. Either the address is out of date or the attachement file size was too big for your system to accept it. I'll get it done when I get home this weekend and attach a screen shot. I think I should take this off the rear spring post. Will update later here and direct to new post.

After being at the drags today my friend was telling me about Caltracs and suggested to me to get some for my car. Looking on their website and found these monoleafs.

My car seems to be working pretty well. I still haven't had a chance to run it with fresh race tires, but I think its pretty close to where I need it to be.

They don't list any import cars, so I emailed them. The source from Australia says he can't get the steel any more, and was taking them off of his website, so maybe this is a viable alternative.

People vary on their feelings about composit mono-leafs, with concerns about breakage etc. I have not been able to find any literature or postings about failures outside of cracking due to owners drilling holes in them. The manufacturer claims to have many road racing customers. I have had mine for about a year, they have seen a few miles and so far I am very very pleased. They are substantially lighter in weight, and once you get the right U-bolts and any needed lowering blocks (my car is fairly low, about 4.5 inches frame to ground) they are generally easy to install for the average bear. They ride way superior to normal or comp springs, yet are stiff enough to keep the car the way I like it. Would love to have a set of Koni shocks to complement, but had to go KYB Gas-Adjusts due to availability and super high Koni costs if you could find them. KYB GR-2s were not good.

I have GR2's right now, definitely want to upgrade.

Greg, I've seen you post about the composite mono-leafs a few times now. Can you clarify what you mean by the ride being "superior"? More information would help push me towards a decision on my leaf springs.

Garm, compared to the de-arched comp springs I had, and to other Roadsters I've been in, they just feel more compliant and don't seem to transfer impact etc as much to the car, yet they are stiff, almost like a progressive rate spring. Understand, I was on de-arched comp springs for a number of years (which by the way are available to anybody who wants to pick them up or is willing to pay shipping and be patient... oops, reminds me that the pistons I gave away are still out in the shed... doh!), so just about anything would be an improvement! The GRs were just too light to control the rear though; a set of Koni would be awesome I think as I would like the rebound control an un-gassed shock would give. They are just not available at a price I can justify anymore, if at all.

If you want to wait until Shasta, I plan (so far) to be there, and would be happy to offer you a ride so you can decide for yourself.

Well, if you really want them you can have them. They will need to be re-arched or something. They are dirty and heavy, and I have no idea what shipping would be.

I already have dibs on the pistons. hehehe!
