Thanks for the run this morning sleepyzzz! The cars look and sound great, like sports cars should. If people ask, you may want to explain the solex starter system to them so they understand that the hissing sound is how the carbs sound with the starter system or chokes engaged.

She fired right up! If sold I hope they go to people who appreciate them! Good luck.

I tried so hard to get my car ready for the J-tin show.. Just couldn't get it done in time.. Got the new studs in the back axle but too late to do anything with it.. Thanks for your help Garm and Jeff. They did hero's work getting studs that had been literally welded to the nuts by overtorquing off the car and making it possible to save the wheels and get the car running again..

I am putting a radio back in my car today. I have to say though that the Retro Radio 4.5 inch speakers are not worth the money. They'll do for now.
66 stroker, almost done.

Yesterday was about a week into stripping the many layers of paint off my car, and repairing panel damage and rust issues. Surprisingly, the car isn't that bad. Check out my gallery for photos. LOTS of body filler on this car, mostly unnecessary!

Replaced the two mail seals on the five speed for my stroker. Thankfully this tranny (came from a running bondo queenthe body of which was not worth saving) is sound and should be good to go now.

One step forward and NO steps back this time!!!!! :D It's about time...hope I didn't just jinx this....

So I was out in my driveway putting pieces back together and my neighbor drove up.

He has seen me out there working on the car before and has on several occasions stopped by to tell me he had a roadster and discuss the cars. Our conversations are fun, but I really wish I spoke Spanish better, I have like a 100 word vocabulary. Anyone have a copy of Rosetta Stone?

Anyway, he and his son stopped by in his '66 1600, we talked cars for a few, he offered me his keys for a spin, so I tossed him mine, and we took a lap around the big block around my house.. The smile on his face when he got out of my car made me very happy..

Anyway, here's photos..

Great guy, really nice son, and just a happy half hour.. Love the people these little cars bring to your life..

Did a brake and clutch bleed. What a difference in clutch feel!
Found out why my spedometer wasn't working...re-connected the gear drive to the transmission.

Picked up my new lower rad hose. The old one is almost warn through at the steering knuckle. :(

Well......Saturday got the interior installed. Sunday did a spring meet with DROP's at Round Table Pizza in Renton, Wa. Today I tried to eliminate a high RPM stutter. It's still there.

Whiteone, what model roadster is it, and what carbies are you running? When you say high rpm, where's it at?

You know how when you clean up one piece, the next one annoys you even more?

So I have been looking at the wipers that someone at some point spray painted silver for days now.. I was just annoyed that they did not match the stainless trim around the car.. I know.. If these are my problems..lol

Anyway, out came the sand paper, and voila..

Image

Still more work to be done, but this is what I had time for.. And frankly, they look 100 times better than the beat up spray paint that was there before. I'm guessing some time with the dremel after Solvang will get the pits off the bases..

Oh, and while I was driving around today, I stopped to get some coffee, and met a guy with a sweet 510..
