Looks like brand new, good luck with the assembly!

Picked up a rear end from an old acquaintance. He’s getting rid of it because he’s worried that if he snapped one of the axles it’ll be really hard to find a replacement. Also, he doesn’t own any 4x114.3 rims too. He swore that this came with 4.44 gears.... I wonder how that will ride...

After starts and stops and starts and stops, I sent the DSU to a shop to check my work, finish it up, and give me a running roadster. I've had the car since 72 and have always worked on it myself but now is the time to get it all correct and moving with the help of an expert.

Spent some money ! haha

Bought Deans 1 5/8" Solex header. I am really excited to see how much this helps over the old rusty manifold and tin can exhaust...

Installed new headlight loom from Victoria British. and some driving lights from my old 87 Maxima. Amazing difference by bypassing the old wiring and running (via relays) straight to the headlights. Guessing 50-100% improvement and the addition of the driving lights also helps a LOT,

What did I do for my Datsun? I reunited it with its long-lost cousin!
IMG_2528.JPG
About 15 years ago, a family friend named John gave me this blue 69 2000 Roadster, and I bought my sliver 68 2000 Roadster from his buddy. Between the two guys they had 4 cars driving at one point, and a parts car.

A series of unfortunate events about 10 years ago led to the blue Datsun vanishing during a move (turns out it was given to the movers as payment for their services, but not with my permission.) The family friend who gave me the car was bummed, but knew it was out of my control. I've been looking for the car ever since, if for no other reason than for the sentimental value to him -- and making an attempt at being a good steward of his gift.

Fast forward like 10 years, and I saw a blue Datsun in the far corner of a field behind a business here in Oklahoma City. After a slight delay on my part, I finally got in touch with the owner this week and it was that very same 69 Roadster -- bumper stickers and all! So I bought the car back (for a pittance), rat's nest and all!
IMG_4254.JPG
Not sure if the blue car will ever drive again (I had my doubts 15 years ago and had already robbed a few parts off it), but at least I have it back, and can sleep better at night knowing it didn't get crushed and melted.
IMG_0253.JPG
...and when I sent photos of the blue car to John, the original owner, he called immediately and admitted he'd wept tears of joy at the sight.

So, that's your happy Datsun story of the week!

Cool story - that is one Roadster that doesn't want to be forgotten or lost!

I installed a reproduction NISMO steering wheel and gear shift knob, as well as a rare day/night mirror I recently refurbished. Looks great in combination with the Libres/Cinturatos on the car. I can still switch back to the stock bias plys/hubcaps and steering wheel/knob in about an hour or so...

Today I am bringing my gauges to Jon, pulled them out Saturday along with pulling the master cylinders and clutch slave, bringing those to ABS Power Brake for rebuild. Also, sent Curtis a message about wire harnesses.
I also have realized that I should have spent more time on this board finding answers to my questions.

How much do "ABS Power Brake" charge to rebuild? Are they resleaving? If so, in stainless?

Slow but steady progress on my 67 2000 #194. Solex engine rebuilt and almost ready for installation. But decided to repair inner fenders before reinstallation.

Hired a welder who installed replacement inner fenders, but turned my brake lines into prezels. Oh well, time for clean up as I go through the brakes.
