Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
PM me your email, Aidan. We're just a bunch of old guys, several semi-retired, who like getting our toys out on weekdays instead of battling the Bay Area weekend crowds. We usually do a monthly lunch at Alice's, always on a Wednesday, that is randomly scheduled based on who's around. We make it to a show or create our own rally on occasion. Several Datsuns in the club, some of them raced as well.

I took my new (to me) 1970 1600 all around town. I put 100 miles on it since it arrived on Friday. Big thank you to @jheck I love this car! So does my 13 year old daughter, who just may get this car one day.

Thank you very much Jerry, glad you like them!Gizmo wrote:Hi,
I was supposed to meet other DROPS members for a group drive over Chinook Pass on Mt. Rainier to Wapato and back on I-90 to Seattle area. Got turned around and missed the group.
So, I had a very nice solo 325 mile drive. I recently upgraded my shocks to the Bilsteins offered by Jim Tyler (JT68). Prior to upgrading the shocks my longest drive, in the 2 years my car has been together, was 90 miles. Last month, after the shock upgrade, I did a 200 mile drive with DROPS (Artist Point) and today a solo 300 mile plus drive. The upgraded shocks makes me want to drive my roadster more! (Public thank you to JT68)

Today was day 1 of a very long roadster related drive. Pomona to Albuquerque.. Unfortunately I am at the wheel of a LARGE Ford. But it has an empty trailer behind it.. Tomorrow will continue east..

Hmm, pray tell Mike, what’s going on the trailer for the ride home? Not headed to Salina, Kansas are you?

Ya, I was thinkin along the same lines... what's ol Mikey up to? Traveling across the country with an empty trailer hmmm? Why do I hear a voice in my head sounding a lot like a TV announcer giving us a preview on some new adventure yet to come!FergO2k wrote:Hmm, pray tell Mike, what’s going on the trailer for the ride home? Stay tuned! Same Bat time, same Bat channel!

Re: Where did you DRIVE this weekend? (Roadsters only!)
Finally after thinking about doing it for ever I took the roadster down the coast to Big Sur. Amazing! Hands down some of the best miles I've done. Evan got some open stretches and twistys to get into it (although you must be very mindful not to "drive west" ). 10/10
Roadster hood makes a great drone landing pad! A fair amount of off-roading required. First time I've been happy not to have the aluminum oil pan

Great photos Aidan! I bought a spare OEM oil pan just in case the comp pan gets damaged. But so far (crossing fingers) its been good.
