I have a confession. I collect steering wheels. As much as I would love to collect Japanese cars and wheels, steering wheels take up less space and $$$ :D
I unboxed this wheel for the roadtrip down to Long Beach for the JCCS in September. It is a MOMO Signature Series Jackie Stewart.

Dated 1982:

One of my biggest gripes with modern MOMO steering wheels like the Prototipo is the grip. The new ones are thin, hard and have very little "give". This JS grip is fat, soft and easy to hold. Thickness is comparable to my old MOMO Competition:

And the wheel is totally flat! No dish at all.

The grip on this wheel is so rad that Magnus Walker combined the Jackie Stewart and Prototipo wheels to make his own:

The ever-important "Datsun" horn button. Jackie Stewart button stored away.

I went with black bolts instead of silver:

I wish they still made them like used too!

Next up: a vintage MOMO Racing Line wheel!

A wood wheel would look nice with your dash.
I thought a black wood wheel, like you see on a piano, would look very sharp also.

That's a nice wheel. Trouble with getting a wood wheel is that it would have to exactly match his wood dash or I'd go crazy lol.

I don't know, the white stitching on the wheel with the red stitching on the shifter kind of makes me want to start pulling out my fingernails.

Thanks for all the info posted previously. Without it, I would have had more troubles than I did. But, my installation was still challenging. I went with a Momo wheel and the 3505 adapter. I had to file down the cancellation pins to get it on. After it was on, I did not like that it pushed the wheel so much closer to my face. I bit the bullet and hacked the adapter by taking about 1-3/8" out of it and welding it back together. But, when I installed it, it rubbed against the plastic housing around the steering shaft. So, I had to cut back on the hub about 1/4" to gain sufficient clearance. A lot of work. However, I am happy with the final result. All in all it is now actually about 1/8" further away than the original wheel.

Regards,

Shawn

Very nice. I was wondering what it would take to get a momo wheel installed and not have it located back so far.

Do the splines on the 3505 fit well with the column or is it a snug-it-down-one-time-only sort of affair?
