I recieved a call back from Precision Brakes about the front brake kit. They are willing to put together a kit and have given me a price of around $850 if they can sell atleast 10 units. Other wise it'll be about $1100 for one offs. $850 sounds pretty reasonable to me for "race quality" brakes. They would feature wilwood dynalite calipers, vented 11"x1" or possibly 11"x1.25" vented rotors, pads,mounting brackets, and braided brake lines. They claim 10 units would cover their engineering and constuction costs. This would be for both front brakes for $850.

I'd say $1100 is fair for a custom set of brakes. When you stop and look at a STILLEN set up for a 300zx, that will set you back as much and they sell tons of them. If you have the money, go for it. A roadster stops pretty well with the stock set up but there is always room for improvement. If you did a rear disk set up that would be hot. I think that is where the roadster could gain the most from. Many modern cars only have single piston disks up front with smaller diameter rotors, the roadster comes stock with 2 piston calipers and an 11+ inch disk, but the drums in the back are the weak point.

Does the $850 price still stand on this kit?

If PrecisionBrakes can sell atleast 10 kits, the price they quoted me would be $850. Otherwise it's in the $1100 range for one offs. I'm still working on checking out some other options in vented brake fitment. I'll keep you all posted to what i learn and how anything turns out.

and has at least two sets on running cars
