Engine Starting Issues

Just a WAG, but have you removed a nd/or plugged all of the smog stuff? Not sure of how those devices work because I have removed them long ago, but some valve may be opening or closing changing the engine operating point...

That's kinda what I was wondering myself. I'll post a pic later of what's left (the po at some point removed the smog pump but left everything else intact) I know my timing will be off so there's a possible issue as well.
