I was just surfing around on EBay and found this master: Beck/Arnley 072-6521 Clutch Master Cylinder. It says it is 5/8.
It says it is for $26.99 + $10.60 for shipping. Great, now that I bought my Wilwood, I thought this would be a good alternative? Is it?

I don't think the clutch master and the brake master would be the same, but????

Clutch masters are still widely available and cheap. I have two or three spares on hand.

The clutch master cylinder doesn't have the valve necessary that allows the brake master cylinder to "pump up".

I know this is an old thread, but it comes up near the top in search. A 520 Brake Master works perfectly. Same length rod. Keep your plastic housing and roatate it 90 degrees on the new one and all you have to do is hand bend the line to the top. They are both 3/8-24.

I also installed a 520 master brake cylinder in my '67 stroker last year, and it works perfectly after trimming a little bit off of its threaded adjustment rod. As mentioned already, the brake line comes off of the top of the cylinder, instead of the side, so it was much easier to bleed the air out of it.
