I can't stand the look of the open hub - why spend so much money on wheels and tires only to leave them unfinished? In my opinion the steelies with hubcaps look better than anything with an exposed bearing cap.
Apologies to those who like the exposed center caps.
Rant ended.
Notoptoy, got a source for caps to fit these 14x5.5 Western Wheels?

Sounds like a challenge! Anybody got any leads? Didn't they used to have a "bullet" shaped cap?
Maybe keep an eye on:

Also I searched E-Bay, with Center Caps, Western Wheel and came up with a number of possibilities.
There is something out there that will work!
Torqu Thrust Terry is a great source. Google his name. What is the hole size? I found a few for my Westerns.

I'm not sure the name of this wheel, but it's on my car and I don't see them on very many Datsuns.
Does anyone know the make? I've seen similar on Sunbeam Tigers.

They look similar to some I had on my 74 super beetle.
Here are some (at least similar if not the same) on a VW with 4 bolt pattern, not the right spacing of course.

Not sure who made them either. Hope you are not offended by VW, remember Ferdinand Porsche designed them

My Dad went overseas to fight Hitler, we still owned 2 VW's.
At least the link has center caps!

When I buy wheels, it will be these Enkei Compe's. They're cheap too.

I received an email from a Corvair owner who said that the wheels on my car were made by "HANDS Wheels".

When will we see the results of the poll on your roadster?! Looks like you will have to put Libras on!

Howard,
I have the same wheels but yours are the nicest I have seen.
From my research they are made by Western, and are a copy of the Dan Gurney wheels made for Porsches.
Also similar to McCafee wheels for VW.

Alvin,
I'm thinking on my second trip to Solvang. Hope to make it for the first time next year.
Show off the current state, see some of these fabulous wheels in flesh. Then switch to something almost as cool.
Have to admit I've enjoyed this poll and the quintessential thread almost as much as when I spent
120 bucks for all 4 of my wheels in 75!
Maybe a polka dot bra someday too ... not really on the bra.

Question for the cap experts.. Do these count as caps even though they are not covering the center bore?

They cover the bearing cap, so they count to me!

Such fantastic observation! Now I know why you can drive a 200 mph roadster!

The Pannasports looked good - the genuine Libres look better.
