Agreed...Japanese car gets Championship White. :)

Also, metallic silver and light blue work for me.

Have to agree on that one , I'm not a big fan of red but this colour convinced me to get my first red car ever, love the nuances depending on lighting

I went with white, but was really impressed by Bruce Ericson's green 67, it's a lovely subtle shade. There are a couple pictures of it in the registry, but they don't really do it justice.

I like white, it has a clean appearance.
I looked at cars on the road, and at car shows first to find what I liked, then tried to imagine it on a Roadster .
Think about how the color goes with you. For example if a black shirt makes you look pasty white like one of the Adams Family members, well a black car would do the same... :?
Getting the right color is not easy! :)

I also seriously considered (briefly), wrapping my car to look like a trout - but was concerned that it would be hard to see. Visibility is a consideration in choosing color for a roadster in my book - much as I appreciate a beautiful black car they are statistically more likely to be hit by someone else than a white car.

For a few of the cars I'm looking at I'm not really crazy about the colors they are (i.e.Green, Orange, almost pink) and since the cost of a high quality color change paint job is very expensive (6-10K) I'm seriously considering a Vinyl Wrap for these cars.
and I think Satin Pear White like this car would look awesome on a roadster

A high quality wrapping job for a roadster is around the equivalent of 2500$ USD, what I mean by high quality is all trim and external accessories removed and complete wrap including door interior and door jams. Using 3M or Avery Wrapping film

This first video show a regular wrap that is surface only

This one show the proper way and what I would get done by these guys

Doesn't a wrap retain moisture and promote rust?

Never heard that, actually one of the main reasons it is used around here is to protect the body and paint from the winter elements , a lot of guys are doing full body wrap to their luxury cars in clear film to protect the paint. To retain moisture there would have to be air between the film and sheetmetal and for that to happen it would mean that it was not installed properly,

Think of it the same way as a paint job in that surface preparation and technique is everything , unfortunately a lot of DIYER , buy cheap film and then don't do a proper job of prepping the surface and installing. Even pro shops are not equal the S5 in the 1st video took 1 guy 1 day to do , the R8 was done over 5days (including cleaning and paint decontamination) by 2 person.

Because of all the curves and creases and parts to be removed on a roadster (bumpers, mirrors , Emblems, mouldings etc.) I was quoted a full week job

My first 2L was a custom mixed light metalic candy apple red very similar to that shown on the Cadi. Looked bright red in sunlight to deep candy apple in the shade. It was stunning.

Bummed about red's now cause the cost is brutal compared to most other colors. (On a full resto its a drop in the bucket, but theres not really such a thing as a cheap red paint job anymore $$$). J
