Thx Matt for the confirmation. Will be trying this soon.
Spindle cleaned up and looks OK
Here’s a link to A Youtube video showing bearing race removal on a hub similar to the Datsun

Re: Front Wheel Bearing Failure
Got the races removed today after getting some long punches from HarborFreight. I had to tap about 10 times each side, just firmly before they popped out. Remarkeably easy after all the anxiety about it. Such is life as an amateur

You are much more diligent about the cleaning than I was, Linda. I gave the areas where the races sit a quick wipe down and that was about it.

Re: Front Wheel Bearing Failure
So, I had done the drivers side the other day and tackled the pass side tonight. To my chagrin, I found that the little clip that rests below the brake pads within the caliper bracket had stuck to a pad and started to slide into my rotor. I now have a nice (pretty deep) groove along the inner edge of the rotor that looks like a machine shop had stuck it on a lathe. Looks like I’ll be in the market for some new rotors. Boo hoo!

Not good, Matt
Maybe someone has a good used one for you.
On the races, do you install them with a little grease or dry?
thx
