Probably doesn't matter, but does the U shim go next to the spindle or the chassis? Parts manual shows it next to spindle, but my parts car has it next to chassis. This pic shows it next to chassis:

Inconsequential. It is just a spacer to adjust the geometry. Just make sure the fasteners are long enough and torqued up properly.

Thanks. No problem regarding bolts. I'm using the bolt packs Pat Mahoney used to sell. Think I bought 'em in 2006!

Pat did a great job with those. I used a set on my '65 SP310.

any advice on rear end alignment? for improved street

i didnt see any suggestions on the tech wiki. (i should check again before posting)

I was going to use those “Ez-shim” plastic rings to help correct any miss alignment and perhaps add a little change to help handling? Me thinks rear wheel drive cars likes a tiny bit of toe-in on the rear wheels. No ideal about camber on rears.

My local alignment guy only adjusted the toe on the front and didnt bother doing anything else.. no shim work. All that fancy equipment didnt help me. No print out either

those worked great on correcting my camber. Thanks for the info on the correct longer bolts as well.. saved me much work.

My rebuilt suspension and current alignment seems pretty neutral but I notice a bit less initial turn in. New tires too (same). Seems a little more vague on turn in, then bites but it's later than I expect. My previous tires were worn on the inside edges. I have not tested the limits and lost it, and it has been very neutral and felt safe in hard corners, but less direct or quite as "point and shoot". What might change this slightly?

Being a "live Axle" there is no alinement other than square to the chassic.
Some improvement can be made by adding different types of links, mostly highend improved street/track.
There is some discussion on 2 link, 3 link, 4 link with and without watts or pannard bars.

where can one find appropriate bolts that don't have such a HUGE shulder. I don't have a die holder strin enuf to die M* bolts?

i havent tried Grainger or Mc Master yet.. do they require corporate accounts still?

i found only two... but its way too long @ 6”

its full threaded (description says so)

a little expensive since only four are needed.

Have you tried Fastenal. Good prices and can save shipping by picking up at store. Highly recommended!
