That would be great Mike. How many were in the caravan last year? Some great winery stops along the route I posted.

I think we had 11 cars at our peak. If I recall correctly we left San Jose around 9am and got into Solvang around 4pm due to taking the coastal route and making a few stops along the way. Last year the stretch from SLO to Buellton on 101 wasn't much fun due to the start of weekend/rush hour traffic, so an alternative would be great. We'll just need to plan to arrive in Buellton / Solvang with enough time for folks to check in and settle into their lodging before the meet and greet.
We can zero in on a plan in March.

Here's an alternate route to avoid much of 101.

One slight change to route. It takes us through Old Town Orcutt which is a neat little town.

I didn't know where to post this but we were in Solvang today and it was wet!
It's bit different without Datsuns everywhere!

My thought was 150 thru back side of Ojai to 33 to 166 to Tepusquet Road to Foxen canyon road to Ballard Canyon road becomes Chalk hill road becomes Attardag road.. Google maps says 3.5 hours so I feel comfortable that without squealing tires it could be done in under 3.. All paved and the samples i took in "street view" looked pretty good pavement..
So after today's canyon run ended at Gorman, I decided to prerun the 166 to the end of this route.. Oh my God.. I am running this way in. Tepesquet is one of those roads you read about.. This was just plain amazing..
I would be happy to run it again with a couple cars to get a better idea of how long it takes. Plus I want to see it with daylight.. But just a beautiful run.

I wonder what the time is on a Ojai start point and on thru the route you ran. I liked the Frazier Park route also. Nice to have several choices mapped out for the drivers if they want to avoid highways.

I always camp, as do several others.......
I usually get the "Basic +" campsite at Flying Flags in Buellton.

If there is enough interest and the timing is right I would be willing to arrange for a nice lunch stop at a wonderful little winery along the route. I could arrange to have lunch waiting for us and it would be a nice little break before we arrive in Solvang. If you are interested let me know as soon as possible so I can begin the arrangements.
