Ted, glad to see you made it back home. We'll see ya in a couple days... now to work on my tan lines...LOL..
We may have to have a social gathering for those arriving on Friday. Plus I hear that there is a Green Roadster already burning up the back roads in Oregon.
For those who are making a long drive to the BBQ, if it helps, we do have a shop available for those unexpected or needed repairs. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there..Bill

Bill forgot to mention the complimentary Towing service!.
The Neals are farmers and a trailer and truck are at the ready.
Embarrassingly it was used twice last year to fetch disabled (whoever heard of such a thing!) Roadsters.
And Bill Cole will make quick repairs at a special Shedd discount rate!.

Ted.

Bill Neal gave us a tour of the local grass seed industries in the valley. This is the Grass Seed capital of the world.
Bill's family has drainage, irrigation and straw operations.
We saw them laying drain pipe with BIG machinery.
We got a tour of the peppermint distillation plant. A 50 gallon drum of peppermint oil can be worth $10,000.
A seed cleaning plant was in operation and we got a fine tour.
The straw operation compacts a standard sized bale to about 1/5 size for shipment to Japan.
In the afternoon we got the tables and awnings set up for the BBQ.
Don Anderson provided fine ribs for dinner.

Shedd Roadster BBQ 8-17-13

GREAT Shedd BBQ today.
Wonderful weather, drive, food, folks and roadsters.
32 Roadsters today. A new record.
Visited a farmer on the drive that had 20 old Fords and dragsters in his big shed.
Ross and the Canadians arrived LATE for the drive but in time for the BBQ!
More pictures later.

We had a brilliant day today with perfect Oregon weather, 33 roadsters, and a bunch of fantastic people at the Shedd BBQ-- a HUGE thank you to Bill & Karen Neal for their fantastic hospitality once again. My son AJ and I came out in our 66 roadster, along with Jack Scoville in his 69 2000 roadster, and Dave Jolliff and his Dad in his 67 SR powered 1600 roadster.

I took a bunch of photos and video which I will get uploaded as I have time-- but until then, here are a few teasers!

Our most awesome hosts, Bill and Karen Neal:

Again, it was a great day... and we have the sunburns to prove it!

Yes, Jack's car has our 26mm 300ZX brake kit on it, with stock rear brakes. It has a comp front sway bar, and Dean's front springs in it, and the front end was totally gone through last winter, other than that it is stock. It is a clean survivor car, but it drives outstanding-- probably one of the best driving original roadsters that I have been in. It is great to see him (at 84 years young) working the car in the corners!
