If people want to do a 1-2 day drive thing, I'm all for it. I have a meeting place in Armstrong (1 hour North of Kelowna) that we can drive to, and sit and enjoy some wobbly pops (or simply pop)
-Come up Westside road for a change of scenery
-could be a quick swap meet thing to. We have the Armstrong Kin Club hall which will easily holp 50 people, a projection screen, and I have the beer fridge key!
-MOst of my family is headed to a lacrosse tournament in Richmond that weekend, so likely a bed or 2 to crash on

That sounds like a cool idea Jim. All up to Dave since he is the Event Master. But seems like folks could meet in Armstrong as the base camp, catch some trout or whatever, then overnight and do a 1 hr fun run drive to Kelowna for the festivities.... Nifty.

Sorry Dave. I am disappointed. We had a good time there last year. hiking up the hill, watching the race, looking at the race cars. Great view from the top.
Bea and I are going to go anyways. No sense wasting a long weekend.

Well, interesting developments. Since I cancelled the event I have been contacted by quite a few folks who said, more or less, 'oh too bad you cancelled it, I was planning on attending.' Uggg.

What to do? What to do?

Ross, can you give me a best estimate of how many would be coming with you?
Ted / Dave, any others that you may be able to drag along?
Garth, any idea of how many may may come up with you (and would you hook up with Ted and Dave)?

What I know about attendees:

When I left Solvang Bill and Karen Neal intended to join us in Kelowna.
I also understood Ted was coming with two other DROPS members.

I plan to be in the Okanagon several days before and after the long weekend regardless, so am flexible if plans change. Personally I'd support moving the event to a following weekend to avoid the long weekend crush.

Alrighty everyone, I'm going to roll the dice and see if I can pull off a decent event. Registration is still a question mark but I'll keep the faith.

So, Datsun Matsuri is back on.

I have a few things to work out before I can open registration again so watch for that on Monday.

Apologies for the drama.

In the mean time, shake the Datsun trees to see if any other Datsun Nuts fall out.

I cancelled my room,after the show was a no go ! No rooms available at this time.Maybe I will donate what i'm going to save in fuel,meals and hotel rooms so we can start prepairing for next year.
