Re: St Augustine Florida November 17, 2012
The park was pretty incredible. Robert and I got a chance to do a once around before the rain. The Oak trees were simply incredible in size. The Park was the former home Owen Young, the Founder of RCA, and a vice president and later CEO at GE. He also served as an advisor to 5 Presidents - fascinating bit of history. He and his wife lived very modestly, but the gardens and general landscaping here is amazing. There was one wedding there (hope they finished before the rain!) and it looks to be a popular spot for that event.

Washington Oaks really is a nice park. We need to plan another meet - once I get one of my cars back on the Road and Matthews also.

Wow, what beautiful cars, and a wonderful setting. Too bad about the rain. It's really great to "meet" and see these owners all across the country, and to look and learn from their cars. Amazing how our Roadster family has expanded so much with 311s and the Internet. Credit to those early pioneers, and to those like Ross who I believe got the whole "let's meet up and talk Roadsters" thing going with Shasta. Good times, good times...
