Let's see if I can explain this;

1) the manifold is disconnected from the motor mount bracket

2) the bracket is still on the motor mount but is NOT hitting the header.

3) I can not get the thing clear of the front stud, all others are free.

4) in this state I have zero clearance between the engine block and frame.

Edit PS. just for Sid, Yes the manifold is disconnected from the tailpipe.

Oh, now I see. Sounds like it's time to jack the motor or try a 2x4 and shift it on the mounts. Might be able to double nut the stud and remove it?

I think I'm taking a break from this for a bit. What a pain in the ass. Never thought an exhaust manifold would be such an ordeal

I've given up Starbucks, Up north here they have Dutch Brothers. Better coffee and drive through.

So unless you have a cop on your tail, all you get is coffee.

There are Starbuck's in Redding, but it's a little bit of a walk. I like Dutch Bros. much better myself.

Kudos to whomever can name that song or name that artist! When I saw the strat on the website I couldn't help myself... Nice work man! Hope people out there still respect your talent!

BTW, your fun experience with the exhaust manifold was exactly why I THREW mine down the alley once I finally got it out. You may very well have better luck removing the stud with a puller (may try double nutting it) or jacking up the motor. Just don't break any fingers, you need them for the work you do!
