One of the fastest cars I've seen at PI Raceways ran a 12 valve motor with big Mikunis on it. Had no problem blowing past Corvettes on the straights. I hear you on the crank fired ignition... Switching to megajolt over the winter...
Yeah, NISMO only made a manifold for the single cam, to make it worse, it's mislabeled as dual cam in the NISMO catalog. Talked to a guy at the parts department, he actually had one in stock, a return.

Cue Pointer Sisters! I'm so excited, I just can't hide it! Got my Nardi in today, been waiting a long time for a non "Classic" Nardi wheel to come around, different shape spokes & different wood.

OK, now back to work.

Update.. Carbs!

had a new intake manifold for the KA24DE built, took out all the EFI stuff.

Got me some Weber DCOE 45's installed now.. trying to figure out what to do with the water pipe.. it's tapped for a 3/4 NPT, but it's really close to the runner (I think the runners might be too long. :/)

Can see the Electromotive HPV-1 crank fired ignition unit mounted on the firewall in this pic. Still waiting on a new pulley mount for the crank sensor to come back form the machine shop... as soon as that's installed, I'm hooking up a gas can and firing it up!

Wow Kris,
That car is really looking good! I remember when that car was for sale here in Arizona. I even looked at it and took it for a drive. What a transformation it's going through now. Nice Job!

Slowly getting closer to firing it up, new fuel lines all the way back, some wiring, new fusebox & relays around.. and some help with some lost parts from zippy67 (THANKS!!)

Got the crank trigger installed.

Really close to firing the engine as soon as cooling is figured out.. the new manifold has a 3/4 NPT port for the water, but I can't get anything in there that won't hit the carb flange or runner.. it's taking a little engineering...

Jetted and choked right, I bet that motor is going to sound and run great and make more power than stock. Keep us posted!

I had forgotten about this car... so, how is it running? How's the crankfired ignition working out? Just doing the preliminary "where and how am i going to mount this" part...

Only driven it a couple blocks, but runs very nice. I do find that the stock rubber for the motor mounts look too soft. Researching alternatives. Also running on the stock carb configuration, still need to do some jet and choke tuning there. But loads of torque!

any plans to paint the engine bay when the KA is all dialed in? I think it would be icing on the cake
