Re: Dan's 66 VG30E Roadster (lots of pics)
Looking at the seat pic, I am curious if the support posts/studs have been shortend, as the driver seat leans back a bit more than stock. There is no way to extend the thread on the stock posts, as there is no meat beyond the threads, smaller dia.

I wish I could tell you guys more about the seats, but they came with the car like that. The previous owner told me he had an upholsterer redo them and they are actually more comfortable than my Accord's leather seats, but not the Jeep's.

I don't see anything unusual about the seat back angle. It's possible that there is a spacer under the front mounts to lean the seat back. With the stops screwed in all the way or removed completely I think they recline more that in the picture.pebbles wrote:Looking at the seat pic, I am curious if the support posts/studs have been shortend, as the driver seat leans back a bit more than stock. ^ I have mine run down all the way (68-69),,still not the angle I like. Ill probably use a 1" bolt and dome it. I have read about washers under the front studs.
I really like those seats Dan!

Since we're on this...
My '69 has thick washer/spacers (1/8" or so) under all four studs on both seats, against the floor pan. Are those factory parts?

Maybe it was a granny car?

To correct an earlier post, Taking a second look at the seat back bolts, there is plenty of material to continue the threads.

Minor update, drove to my parents place and had them help me flush the clutch fluid. Does that count as family bonding? They told me they entered me into the local car show, so we'll see how that goes April 28th.
Also, what is the use of parking a car under a tent if a bird still manages to get inside and poop on my hood.

^ Think of the bright side; fifty of his friends did NOT find their way under the tent.
Roll bars are attractive in that way.

I'm thinking chicken wire in the tent above the car and an electric fencer, but then there might be more poop, and smoking bird parts, so not such a great idea.

Are tickets still available for your stand up show at Solvang? I heard it's really good.

OK, seriously, if you add some spinning stuff, like wind chimes or mylar fringy stuff that moves on the tent, it helps keeps the birds away. It worked on my boat with the gulls

It floats!

But actually this makes the second time I've gotten tires as a birthday gift from my parents. Just imagine new tires being on the rear not going flat.
