I am determined to make these wheels work... so we will just have to take this one step at a time. I appreciate all the great input people.

Do the wheels have steel inserts? If they do, you may be able to have the inner face of the hub milled 2mm. that will give you a 12mm OS. Make sure there is 1mm or 2, of wheel "meat" left between the insert and hub face. Some pics would be helpful. Ive never held a rota.

Did you ever get 17mm lugnuts? the 13/16 may be too fat and interfere with the counterbore. its hard to tell from the pics. 16x7,,,thats big, no magoo there.

No I didnt get lugs or studs yet. Havent really figured out which type of lugs I should use for that rim? I did however get the guy over at Americastire to mount one wheel. I figured Ill test fit it and swap out the tire if I cant make it work within 30 days... they said no problem as long as I dont drive on it.
Im sure Im going to have to roll the back wells and maybe even shave a tad off the drums... cross your fingers.

if i am mistaken let me know, but is that a 205/
55/16 tire?
that is HUGE!

that is about 2.5" TALLER than a 195/50/15

You are correct my friend. I told you I was dedicated to making this work....

One way or another. I figured Id start on the big side and reduce as neccessary.
Im currently running 195/70/14's on my stock wheels. If I compare the 205/55/16's side by side here are the details.

Pretty close actually. And the advantage of the lower profile wheels are that the sidewall doesnt bow out like the 70 series im running (thats where they are especially tight). I know it will take a miracle for these to fit, but the dude at americas tire will swap them out for smaller sizes as needed. So... here I go.

It is difficult to tell how much "meat" there is from the inner face (drum side) of the hub and the lugnut seat. This is where more is better. From the pics, it looks as if the rota is near minimum engineering dimension, strength, weight, cost, etc.
If the stock lugnuts were completely seated in the prior pics, it looks like the studs are 2 threads short of flush with the lugnut??? Removing the "2 threads" of meat to acheive the flush stud, would be MAX, without compromising the lugnut seat. DONT KNIFE EDGE the lugnut seat and hubface, .120" would be mininmum. cuz when you get them on the car, you will drive with attitude!!
NO MG!! (magoo)

Im thinking those studs will need replacing regardless of what I do to make the wheels fit. And I agree... looks like about two threads to make it flush. The stock wheel is about 2 threads past the lug. Im hoping a fender roll and maybe a shave on the drums will make it work. Im in Indy on business, but as soon as I get back home, that rim is getting bolted on.Then we can see how far off I am.
Dont you just love challenges?

Ok... I got home from my trip last night and was out in the garage at 10pm trial fitting the tires on my Roadster. And OMG they fit!
The rear was just as tight as my stock wheels running 195/70/14's. But over all i dont see much in the way. Im most likely going to get the fenders rolled anyhow. No sense in messing up my new tires or body work if I slightly miscalulated.
Anyhow... here are some ANTI-MAGOO shots.

I have decided on the RB wheels for my 68-SRL, I would like to see pictures of the 15x7 +12 offset wheel on a raodster for those of you running this set up.Also please tell me what mod. would be needed to fit the RG'S and what size tires you are running. I would like to order my wheels tomorow 12/23/11.
