I am currently working on a sr20 turbo swap on my 67.5 1600. Going very slow but have the engine mounts welded (thanks Spriso!) and the frame exhaust holes enlarged for a 2 3/4" exhaust. Crossmember is notched, just need the engine. Looking for a RX7 rearend for Spriso to modify for the roadster. No turning back now. Am curious as to how many folks have a swap in progress at this time. It seems like Mike Spreadbury's engine motor mount jig is being well put to use. As soon as I finished with it someone else was waiting for it. Don't worry, I'm not doing this on my 67.5 2000, I just want a fast daily driver that is unique and won't be a garage queen.

Ed:

I've got a swap going just a short drive from you in Albuquerque. Mine is a 68. Frame mods are done, SS exhaust done, engine is in, flat dash installed, suspension and brakes rebuilt, and an RX-7 diff in the corner. I haven't worked on it in months though.

I hope to get more done this summer.

We should get together sometime.

I am also doing a swap to my 68 1600. Right now the frame is 100% bare nothing bolted to it. Next month it heads off to DGR Fab to have the Rx-7 rear narrowed and A LOT more stuff done. Personally I am going with a Sr20 de S14. I did not want to deal with the turbo. I think most cars should have turbos with all the benefits they have. I am going with the largest cams, lightest clutch/flywheel, header, programing. Looking for 190 at the wheels.

Good luck with your project

Well this one certainly looks a lot better to start with. What is happening to the red one?
