From the cars I have seen, the early SPL ('65-67) had gray dash faces. I defer to the original owners!

seeing that layout makes me wish I had done more research rather than purchasing the car I knew (.e. a ;70) Just LOVE the early layout. the switches, the gauges - all so much more 'sports car' to ME!

Thanks Alvin, That's the way I was leaning but then I found an image online that differed.

I'm fairly certain the answer is gray.

Yup gray from 65 - 67. 67.5 was black.

I wasnt planning on adding the 2000, I like the simplicity of just the badge alone.

The badge alone with no 2000, combined with the fact that I need to drill the holes makes me want to bring it a little lower than where it sits with both the Fairlady & the 2000 badges. The crooked version doesnt look bad either... Hmmm
I'll look for script alone/crooked examples I can remember a few.

another script alone Simon

and...gadzooks!

There are several threads involving step-by-step instructions on how to transfer the early flat dash – to the newer style tall windshield Roadster’s.
Relatively straightforward however it does involve welding and cutting I believe, it’s not a Straight bolt-in job. Search on Dash Conversion.

yup the 67 early dashes are absolutely grey (lighter in color than the 1/2 year). Ace textured paint is close enough for me.

Rainy days and boredom are leading me to install my comp oil pan... Question: I purchased the blue “competition” gasket for it a while back - would that be a “dry” gasket I assume? I’m thinking it was designed as such because racers would be apt to reuse it over and over, but I may be wrong...again.

thank you ! I'm pretty happy with my dash now though that I've redone it. I do love those older dashes if I ever see one cheap enough I may think about it now that I know this !

Somehow my blinkers are confused - as am I

Fronts blink fine (left = left, right = right) but somehow the rear indicators are resisting this logic as in left = right and right = left.

Any idea which wire I have maybe transposed - can't see it from the wiring diagram.

Thanks.
