I've towed one of them up to NC a few years ago and showed them hillbillies how to cook. ( poking fun at notoptoy ). I'd love to cook for a roadster gathering here in Texas. We're just to scattered and unorganized, maybe someday.
Enjoy

I really WISH you Texas etc states would pull together for a meet. Something like a 2 day thing to encourage people to drive. Think of it as Shedd BBQ South
All that BBQ looks awesome. Just what the Shedd BBQ folks use to pull them in too.
Linda
Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

No offense taken here, now, your son-in-laws family may put up a fuss!

You want help that's definitely one way to get me there
And by help I mean eating end watching you work...I can bring beer though
Looking good, happy you got time!

Spousal unit is out of town. The day went like this.
BBQ'n, work on roadster, drink beer and repeat until you get it right. With enough beer it all turns out good!

Welded the oval hole shut in my clutch pedal, redrilled to 5/16", installed a universal 5/16" clevis pin and ran the return spring through one of the extra holes. Whole different car! Now my clutch doesn't engage directly off of the floorboard. Makes driving a lot more fun, and more like the clutch in my Xterra.

I repaired my throttle cable. The housing melted at the manifold end for some reason. Thing is nylon plastic inside. After seeing the price for a new cable I made one from bicycle cable for $15 which works but doesn't look right.
I dug out the cable from the ferrule, drilled it out a bit, cut off the melted part and super glued it in and then punched it. A bit shorter but it works. They're too long anyway.
Dropped my hardware back off to be plated after it was stripped and I buffed it all with the wire wheel. Cleaned up two differential to take in and see which one still has good gears and can be refitted with all new bearings. This weekend I should have everything to start putting the frame together. I want some wheels on that damn thing, I'm tired of rolling it around on dollies.
66 stroker, almost done.
67 basket case, paint coming soon.
After finding the rear master brake cylinder empty, I then proceeded to test the clutch slave, which I recall from last year, wouldn't let me get into gear, so I assumed it had failed, but it appears to move properly. Now only if the battery was charged, I could attempt to start this thing & see if I can get it into gear...all this is since the car's been sitting for a couple of seasons. Battery charging tonight, lets see if she turns over tomorrow

I got the battery charged & it turned over, but no fuel getting to the carbs. Turned out the fuel lines were empty, but got that resolved today & she fired right up. I also ordered the Clutch slave cylinder from AutoZone. Duralast 10030 for $19.99.

Picked up my replated hardware today. Had it all done in yellow zinc. There was probably a couple things that had been silver but I don't care. Now I can put my frame together.

Nice Curtis, now your car will live as long as a Twinkie!
