What a feat you've accomplished Scott, I'm sure we are all envious. By the way ships leave for Hawaii and Alaska weekly! .....Mike

Well, Canada as a whole is just basically just one more big state, but if it makes you guys feel better to divide it up into "provinces" and "territories", who am I to judge? :P

I dare you to come back up here and say that... Jackass.

Seriously though, 48 states in less than a year in a Datsun has to be some kind of world record. Perhaps you should call Guinness? Or Ripley's?

Have you sold the movie rights yet? I still think that Danny DeVito as "Scott Fisher - Professional Hobo" might be Oscar worthy...

DaVito?? Really? Cut the guy a break - suddenly it's a baaadd comedy?
I think not. Let's give a little class to this - say a Ryan Gosling/Brad Pitt/George Clooney type with a Jack Kerouac ambiance. :-)

Maybe cast Justin Hartley from "Revenge" in the lead role

Maybe head north to Alaska, ferry to Siberia and drive it back to Yokohama for a visit to the factory? :D
OK, that not being practical, does anyone know which seaport Datsun used in the 60's to bring the cars into the US? Maybe Long Beach? A final photo on the pier where it came into the country would be an interesting ending.

I knew him way back in 2013 when he parked next to me in Solvang and we had a beer over lunch....now he is in an internationally known automotive star. I should have got a autograph while I could...

Ok, so he needs to go up to Alaska in the summer to meet up w/ Zogster and then put the car on a ship to Hawaii to hit all 50 states. Why stop there....next Guam, Somoa and back to the Datsun motherland of Japan to make an appearance at his fan club and tour the Nissan Zama Museum. Then Australia.... Scott, don't stop now.

I have enjoyed following your travels. I'm glad you've had a safe trip.

I had originally suggested Ben Affleck... But then he made that Canada comment. Suddenly, DeVito seemed more appropriate...

I had a great time in Albuquerque with Shannon (sfdaugherty) and a large chunk of the Duke City Datsuns crew. There was actually a reception party of Datsun dudes at Shannon's house when I rolled up. Shannon was also extremely helpful with finding a place for me to get my exhaust replaced, as the old piece of rusty junk I started the trip with finally gave up. Between getting tires in Houston and exhaust in Albuquerque, the car is going to be fresher by the time I get home than it was when I left. :)

So, a bit of bad news...last night in the middle of rural Utah, I met up with a suicidal deer. Unfortunately, she chose me to be the instrument of ending her emotional pain, so the car isn't quite as pretty as it was when I started out. It still drives fine (after a bit of roadside bodywork) so I'm carrying on, but definitely not my favorite Valentine's Day ever. Could have been a lot worse though; it didn't come through the windshield or anything.

Anybody have a nice RH '66-'67 fender (and maybe a hood?)

(Side note: Trip mileage went past the 35,000 mark the day before this. Yay!)

Bummer Scott. Sorry this happened. At least you are ok. You'll find the parts you need easily enough though; probably right in Vegas. Isn't there a forum member from LV that has a bit of a private Roadster bone yard?
