Taken out of hibernation for tomorrow's hopeful weather. I gave the interior a cleanup until I can pull it out into the driveway and wash all the crap that the car cover put on it. Who would've thought that a couple days of sun could turn a cover into crispy bacon.

I sat in one of my engineless Roadsters and made VROOM VROOM noises :smt003 :smt004

Actually, I did a minor cleaning of the engine bay and a major cleaning of the tranny tunnel area as part of the prep for installing my stroker. Holy crap was my last drive train a leaky bastard!

Oh yea, I really did sit there and make VROOM VROOM noises

Hooked up the heater hose I got the advice about a couple of weeks ago. Didn't have to pretzel my hands too much.
Looked, squinted, scratched my head at some other places.

Friday, I called in sick.
* Installed my new Champion radiator, I had to modify it a little as it mounted to high the way it came.
* Rebuilt my Solexes
* Put the finishing touches on my gas tank, rubber grommets etc.
* Assessed the condition of my seats

Finished the frame mods and test fit the engine and trans, the frame was soda blasted and coated with the two part POR 15 process, I love the finished product but very time consuming. It took forever for the rust encapsulator to dry even in 80 degree's sitting in direct sun. They are not lying when they say that no solvent will remove it once it is dry, my hands will be black for several weeks. Finished cleaning the eng compartment and underside of the car and coated with self etching primer.

I installed my Solexes today. I would swear it was easier than removing them.

Argg. I had to install the one nearest the firewall twice. After I put it on the first time...I saw two extra gaskets sitting on my cowl. OMG. I didn't put on the gaskets between the carb and the insulator, only the gaskets between the manifold and the insulators.

I spent 20 minutes looking to see if it was OK to run without those two gaskets. When I could not find anything about it, I decided to remove the carb again, install the gaskets and put the carb back.

Anyway. Both Solexes are happily together. I installed fuel lines and radiator reservoir.

Tomorrow I will route around my heater, since there is an leak inside the heater core. I will route it back one I get the heater core repaired and I figure out how to cable a 240z heater valve to the 2000 Roadster.

Today I started my new engine after many months of rebuilding, slowly assembling...etc.

It was late in the day when I started it and all I could do was be happy about it. I could not drive it since the seats were out. I hadn't added radiator fluid and I didn't hook up the muffler or air filters.

Anyway, will be driving it by next weekend. Now if only it were legal. OK. Will hit the DMV soon too.

Started cleaning up all the front end parts, discovered a broken lower front spring/shock mount perch. Any one have a spare that they would part with. IM or call me, Dave 602-826-6238 Passenger side if that matters.

Rear end and suspension back in............nice to finally put something back together instead of take apart.
