Rod change difficult? 2 minutes when I did it, but then again I'm only 5'6" and have been known to lay in the trunk to reach things. Gets harder as I get older though!

Haha. If I got it first try it would be 2 minutes  A bunch of curse words later and one time the snap ring sprung off and got lost for a bit. Couldn't find a good way to compress the thing so just stuck with a screw driver. The bracing around it made it very hard to keep the rod straight and pry the snap ring in.

Side markers are done! Turned out pretty nice, thanks mraitch for the measurements. I was off by a 1/4" from eyeballing.
Soldered in some new connectors to keep everything tidy, these have a nice weather seal on them and work great.

Quick test to make sure I did it right! Lense loosely in place

Nerve wracking, but looking lined up

And here they are temp installed, new gaskets will go on after paint.

was suppose to be doing primer today, but a chunk of metal cracked off when I was drilling the trim ring hole. The one day I let my buddy borrow my welder... going to fix it up soon.

Eye doctor appointment slowed me down. Didn't want to try welding with my eyes dialated! Got the trim ring holes drilled then a few coats of primer. Some rough patches still need some work, almost there.

Very pleased with the patch panel. Nice and smooth after a skim coat.

Showing off the fender peaks, love all the subtle style lines on these cars.

If you are using high build primer, be careful around the head lights where the big chrome piece fits in. It it's built up too much this piece will not push on far enough to re-align into the old holes.

Good thinking, I'll check those first. Need to make sure there's room for base coat/clear.

+1. Thought I had mine well fitted until the day I put them on. Was thinking that I'd used a different pair!

Came out much better. Nice filters before and after the airhose, bought proper wax and grease remover, and a space heater to help with the cold.
Still a little cold so not glass, but no craters or crazy spots. Getting closer.

The left fender is really nice, found some cracking at the lower join. So had to weld and reprimer during the week.

Right fender bodywork is ok, pretty good considering it was smashed at one point.

Back from a work trip to Nevada getting small things done. It's amazing what a little red paint can do. Going to get some new glass cut after the holidays

Alex, how much paint did you go through with your car?
