New fuel pump. What a pain that was. With having to install longer studs getting it on was a chore. I ended up loosening the engine mounts on the block and pushing the engine while wiggling the pump into place. This car would be much easier to work on with smaller hands.

That is one way to do it. Another way is to unscrew the studs each time you need to remove pump....double nut the stud then unscrew.
Otherwise the frame is in the way .

Probably you could use appropriate bolts as apposed to studs.

Worked on the soft top install today and yesterday, after having already put in time in the past few weeks  Yes, it does take time. I don't see how you could do one in 3 hrs unless you had some experience. I still need 2 Twisties and some adjustment, I ran out of warm day, so have to wait for the next one.
I see why people have someone else do it, but saving 400 bucks is cool 8)

This weekend I added the Victoria British wiring harness from the tech wiki and a pair of $100 LED headlights that I purchased from ebay. I don't love the look, but the visibility gained is superb. By the way, the harness now has a black sleeve rather than the yellow one pictured in tech wiki.

I finished up my project of converting the front side markers on my 70 Roadster from a single function (park lamp only) to a dual function (park lamp AND turn indicator). Here's the finished product:

Here's my write up in the Tech Discussions section of the site on how I did it.

Several weekends of work, but pleased with the results.

Installed a new right door handle from an early Z, since mine broke. Works great, same fit,
Z handle on left.

It's that time of year. The roadster has gone away for the winter, but unlike all previous roadster hibernations, I now have my own garage! Winter projects have started!

-full axle seals/bearings, including pinion and carrier bearings, and 3rd member gasket.
-dropping the leaf springs and installing all new bushings
-rear brake piston rebuilds, new shoes, stainless lines, and rebuilt adjusters
-torque rod bushing rebuild, custom
-dropping gas tank, flushing and sealing

When I first looked at the photo I though you were using plastic jugs for jack stands. Scary! That is the trouble with looking at things in the morning, my mind is a little slow.

I also use t-shirts but separate the front and back with scissors, cut off the sleeves, cut in half vertically then divide into quarters horizontally. I end up with 20 small squares to use like paper towels.
