Yes, speed tickets are high, 10 euro for 1 km over-speed, so when you push the throttle it could be quick 200 til 400 euro.
More then 50 to fast means hand in drivers license for a while. But Germany is about 10 miles from me and there are on a lot of high ways, and not so much speed limits.
And Ted, I didn't see any police cars, or they were driving in opposite direction.

Went for a drive last Fri. 4/1/16 around neighboring towns. Kinds of a 70s flashback day picking up a hitchhiker. Hit a drive-in for burgers.

Very nice and creative. Beautiful flowers next to the car.
You are getting a jump on Summer though! The other day I was thinking, "What would be the colors of Summer?" The answer I got was, burgers, BBQ, beaches and lakes, camping......So, hold that thought!

That bug just reminded me of the time I got a bumble bee up the shorts one day while driving the roadster. It took all of my driving ability to keep it on the road.

An all day 485 mile drive Thursday. No need for Socal weather envy here. Mid 80's in the PNW!!
This drive was in memory of the "younger" Alvin.
You know, the no top, wind ruffling the hair, Alvin
who has been replaced by the "senior", married, kids, hardtop, Alvin.

I am fearing about the "mods" Alvin says were done to his roadster before the rally trip.
These mods must be accommodating his senior status and logically would be.

Hardtop permanently affixed.
Cruise control
Air conditioning
and maybe even the dreaded "automatic transmission". Say it aint so Alvin. :smt010 :smt018

I will check out his roadster at Solvang and report back.

Ted.

Nice pics Ted. You will have to show me where crooked front bumperland is...
Just across the Columbia River Gorge is Iron Horse Monument. A little to the left.

Hi Peter,
NO police or anybody in sight on these WA State back roads. :D
In WA State you can use vintage old plates or "collector" plates and they are only required on the rear.
The plate does not follow the vehicle like in Euro (still the same now?). When you purchase a vehicle you get new plates
and it was required until last year to get new plates for "visability" every 7? years.

Drove to our local Datsun Club Monthly meeting.
NWDE, Northwest Datsun Enthusiasts.
Good turnout of 6 roadsters and a Skyline.
5 roadsters joined a short drive on the local back roads after the meeting.
Low clouds but dry.
Nary a softtop or HARDTOP to be seen.

Nice Hako! A real GTR or a look-alike? Nothing like that out this way.
