Got all the lights and horns working. Now I need to get the gauges working. I having an issue with the fuel gauge. I did some searching for tips on the fuel sender and gvr. We'll see how that goes.

With reverse light on.

Thanks. My sender unit is working, I’m getting the correct ohms readings. Not getting the gauge to work. I need to dive back n a little deeper.

Wow, now there's a different look!

I’ve tried to smooth the back out. No bumpers front or rear. Did you notice the redesigned sheet metal roll pan? Got the flush mount gas cap welded in too.

I'm digging it, respect the work!

Please help. What’s the trick to get the clock to work?

I used an Oiler with a fine tip to lube all the pivot points and it has lasted 10 years now. Also I think there is a thick wire that acts asa fuse.

I look closely while it was hooked up to 12 volts. The motor turns a couple degrees and then stops. Disconnect and reconnect to 12 volts and it try’s to turn again. It’s like it’s locked up. I tried to oil it. Still doesn’t tic-toc.

Not a clock or even electric for that matter, but a wind up music box. This music box plays discs about three inches in diameter, so requires a little torque to turn them. After sitting unused for a few years it wouldn't turn. After oiling it a little and giving it a some manual help it started to work a little, but was slow and would keep stopping. I kept oiling and helping and it got a little better, but still no cigar. It finally dawned on me that it wasn't a lack of oil causing the problem, but dirty gummed up oil may be the culprit. I grabbed a can of brake kleen and went to town. After soaking it throughly I let it sit over nite before blasting it again in the morning. When it was dry I used a small amount of thin oil designed for clocks and gingerly lubed only the shafts and pivot points. After a little more manual help it started working like new. You might try getting the proper oil and the oil application tool and give your clock the same treatment.

The brake gremlins are back. A little bit less then a year ago I first filled the brake system with oil after rebuilding and leaving it dry for years. Well, months after the 1st fill the passenger rear wheel cylinder starting leaking, so I replaced it. Last night while working on the car I noticed the rear oil on the master was low. Now the drivers side rear wheel cylinder is leaking. Why did it take months to start? I just ordered a new one for that side. I hope the fronts don’t start leaking.

What a great day!!! I’ve been dreading and putting this day off a for a long time. Windshield install. I did a bunch of searching and reading throughout the site and formed my game plan.
I started 1st with cleaning everything real good. Then I soaked the rubber with soapy water and slid the trim in. Next I stretched the rubber around the glass and inserted the para cord in the rubber track. My wife was a big help. Couldn’t have got it done without her. 1st attempt.... failed 2nd try we learned what we did wrong from the 1st and got it in. I couldn’t be happier.

It's good to get your spouse involved in these projects. That way when you're spending money on the car it's "our Datsun"... if it isn't already! My wife's a great copilot and a strong supporter of "our" Datsun!
