Got cooking on the underbelly. My good roadster buddy Bob loaned me his rotiserrie, so I got busy with applying bed liner. Notice the walnut dust under the car, I guess the po had the car walnut blasted. That is both good and bad. I didn't have to do much prep on the floor pans, but I'll have to really work at getting rid of all the residue before painting.

Re: What did you do TO or FOR your Datsun today?(Roadsters o
I worked on Greg's wiring harness today.
I can tell you that the 66-67 and the 67.5 wiring have a few differences. I really like how the 67.5 schematic does not have the hazard flashers shown on it. Yet there's the plug right there in the harness. AND, if you don't have the switch the turns signals don't work. The power for the turn flasher runs though the flasher switch when it is off.
The good part is the flasher switch has a power lead of it's own so you can fix that little design uniqueness. If it wasn't for the 68 schematic I'm not sure how long it would have taken me to figure it out.

I hate wires......................Good find Curtis.
Today I cut out the frame for the alternater, boxed it in and welded it up very pretty for the SR20 swap.
Tomorrow I will cut out what I did today and weld it back to stock.
Then I will cut out, box in and weld the correct side of the frame.
UGH feel like an idiot, too many distractions today.

whoops,,,,Been there myself David. When I flipped my frame to finish the exhaust openings, (after months rightside up), I kept thinking the exhaust ran down the passenger side, confusing the battery location and many other items.

Nothing wrong with right hand drive
I cut and pasted all the rubber pads for the chassis today.

3M contact adhesive onto both parts.
Just as well I had a few spare house bricks to hold the pads in place: -

Yup!
Courtesy of a photo I took of an SP310 at All Japan Day here in Adelaide [2010] and a wee bit of editing to add my license plate number to the front
When completed, my car will be the same colour, Cherry Red, so I took the liberty of preempting the final result.
To be fair, to be fair, here is the original photograph: -

After a terrible day yesterday I got up early and got back on the horse.
Motor mounts in, (Thanks Michael@Spriso) check.
Alternator cut out and boxed, check.
Cross member cut out and boxed, check.
Ordered new wire harness for engine/trans. check.
Neighbor's hood for 57 Chevy repaired where the air cleaner screw poked a whole in it. check.
Tomorrow: Mount transmission on engine, install for test fit and cut out transmission mount. Remove all running gear and suspension from frame and take to powder coating on Friday.

Sounds good but!
It must be the week for frack to bunt projects.
I noticed today that I had assembled the front RHS drum brake cylinders reversed.
So off they came and were re-installed correctly.
I originally built them on the bench so I just got carried away and schtuffed it up
