Dammit. In retrospect I guess Leno is the obvious choice... Perhaps Linda could put a word in...
Ha! I'm afraid the Tonight show will be history for Jay by the time Scott gets back. But there is Jay's Garage.
I'll make a pitch if I can LOL. 10%, Scott 8)
I asked Jay if he had heard of "Comedians in Cars getting Coffee" and he said he was on in a week. :) Episodes are hilarious.

It feels more like a faithful dog that may raise an eyebrow to some of your more harebrained plans, but will totally give 100% to make it happen.
So love this line Scott. I agree so much.

Great story spooling along there Scott, you "do" a nice interview as well.
I could hear you talking, having met you and knowing your demeanor.

Just left Huntsville a couple of days ago, and I'd like to thank Phil for the great hospitality and the behind-the-scenes look around the Marshall Space Flight Center. Absolutely a highlight of the trip...should have it up on the blog in the next day or two.

I didn't catch this when you first posted, and actually found the other site petrolicious on a Patrol forum of all places. i have read through your entire thread and now hooked. I thank you for posting and the pictures are awesome. At the very least, a book should come out of this trip, and a weekly series of your travel highlights would be interesting and worth viewing as well if some network would put it together.

It was wonderful to have you stay with us Scott! Good times. Very much enjoyed the conversation with a fellow engineer and many Roadster stories.

I do have a word of caution for all on here - Scott will cost you time and money! But, the good kind. You will want to get on those Roadster projects. He even got my son motived. Yesterday we pulled the motor our of his wrecked '66 and started building a 4 speed for his driver '66.

Save Travels! If you find yourself back in the South, please stop by! And yes, you will be famous - ha…

Greetings from lovely Bartlesville, OK, where the trip has just recently passed the 30,000 mile mark. This is pretty close to the turnaround point for the big loop I'm making to pick up the 'missing' states, so I'm actually headed back toward Nashville now after traveling as far west as Tulsa.

Also: You guys probably already know this, but I found an off-the-shelf set of wiper blades that fit right on, work great, and look original--Trico Classic 33-111. I'd been cutting up 20" blade parts and stuffing them back into the old wiper blade frames, but these work way better. Wish I'd had these, oh, maybe 29,000 miles ago. :)

Hi Scott,

I have enjoyed following your progress. Thanks for the updates. Perhaps Steve can add your wiper tip to the tech wiki.

Safe travels....

Good job Phil! I knew all those big motors would be a hitLOL
The food in the South is so much fun. Until it kills you. Oh well. It's a bit campy but the Cracker Barrel chain is entertaining. Some beautiful driving roads for sure as well thru TN especially. Those little cemeteries with Civil War soldiers are a nice historical reminder of what the area and the country went thru.
The pics of the caves are awesome :)

Bartlesville- I hope you saw the ONLY Frank Lloyd Wright Skyscraper there. I ended up there on a trip not as planned as yours - nor as extensive (only 10K miles) - but indeed varied - I hope to duplicate (?) your trip in '17
Fun watching, fun being part of the experience and GREAT photos

So...Nissan US invited me to drop by their headquarters outside of Nashville, where I got a factory tour, met a bunch of their marketing and product development guys, got to tour a museum with a lot of significant Nissan vehicles, and generally had the Nissan red carpet rolled out for the Roadster. They were really awesome the whole time, and it's hard to believe a big car company like that would go to that effort to meet 'n greet with a little vintage Datsun owner, but that's exactly what they did. Basically, they're just a big bunch of hands-on car geeks hanging out in a really fancy building. I got to sit in the Geoff Brabham IMSA GTP car, the John Morton/BRE TransAm 510, and do over an hour of meet 'n greet and general car ogling with dozens of their employees and development guys in their studio. It was crazy awesome. :)
