thanks guys. I'm going to strip some more pieces, I'm getting inspired. (I'm known to take things a little too far, however).

spikes = PDS = Pigeon Defense System.

and, thanks to pebbles, the car's name is now "Spike". :-/

I love the way that trim hoop looks! It almost looks like it's brushed stainless now. How did you do that? Same w/ the roll-bar - it looks fantastic.

Cheers
James

...because it IS stainless! .. well, steel anyway. :D I peeled off the vinyl, cleaned up the glue, then used 320 and 400 sandpaper to get the surface rust off, and finally a little metal polish -- done!

When I've got a few pieces done, I'll use Shark Hide (http://www.sharkhide.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) to protect it forever.

I'm going to do the upper door trim panels next, they look like they were made the same way. Remember, this is all pebbles's fault.

if all of the body panels were done that way I would leave the chrome parts chrome for contrast
sick!
ps it might be less laborious just to wrap the entire car!

yeah but not nearly as much fun, and a wrap is what, $1200 or so?

if you polished/finished the body panels would do the interior as well or do a full interior/carpet kit?

I'm really not sure. Input is always appreciated. ....I'm working on a little door trim piece at the moment. :D

It's still going to be a work-at-the-very-beginning-of-progress for Solvang.

Competition orange, all trim brushed, silver (brushed with scotch brite) datsun stripes, co graphic below the fender side moulding,,,,lose the datsun and 1600 badging, Graphic on the rear panel.
As an option, hood and front cowl "brushed silver" like the stripes.

Bare body will show the lead. Paint is much easier to maintain.

Its after midnight isnt it. :smt077
