The extra kit has already sold.

I've been rebuilding a set of truck kingpins lately and as part of the process, I've been installing the bearing adapters from my truck kit. I shot some vid of the process and it's a bit long, but you can watch the first 15 minutes of it to see how to install the spindle spacer in the roadster kit without heat.

I've simple pasted the different clips together. Maybe one of these days, I'll go back and edit it to make it shorter and cleaner, but for now, it is what it is.

So! Since a bunch of these kits were sold, when will pix be posted?

I've got a few preview pics. I'm probably going to have to pull it apart again when I get my banjos, and I was accidentally shipped one vented and one solid caliper, so I need to return the solid caliper for the right one.

I've had a few hiccups, but I'm working on a full writeup with lots of pictures for others wishing to do this swap. In the meantime, here are my preview fitment pics:

spider......there's only 6 kits out there and so far, I think only about 3 have been put on counting the prototype. Most of the guys seemed to have grabbed them because they were available, but they're still in the middle of major rebuilds and not even working on their brakes. But, I agree...I'd love to see more pics.
Also....you've got 3-4 posts on the page you linked....I'm not quite catching which comment you're referring to.

Corey.....you can do some creative clearancing if need be. Things were really close on shifty's, but it all cleared. I'm guessing there's going to be some variance between calipers. Since this is simply a different approach to an existing mod, I have no clue if there's normally a clearance issue. Maybe I should consider shaving the OD of the rotor about a 1/16"? I haven't gotten any other feedback about this issue yet, but as I mentioned, most guys haven't put them on yet.

I got your email about the bolt length. Can you measure the thickness of the mounting tabs on the calipers where the bolts go through........and post a pic or two? I only had the one caliper to work from, so hopefully, the assumption that it was the same as the rest wont be a problem.

I thought the link jumped to the paragraph where I received the calipers from Rock Auto. They had been banged up in shipping and one of the bleeders was bent and a bolt head was snapped off. Not trusting the quality of the bolts, I replaced all to the bolts (8) holding the calipers together with quality grade eight bolts.

I replaced the standard bleeders with speed bleeders. It sure makes it easy!

I think if you quoted that post it would have worked.

Finances have changed creating a new motivation to make these :) I have one kit on hand, but can make more as ordered. If I could get about 3 pre-paid orders, I could get the bearing spacers cnc'd and have another batch of the caliper spacers cut. I just can't afford to lay out the money up front myself if they're just going to sit on the shelf.

I'm having more caliper spacers cut in stainless steel this time. I've also placed an order to have the bearing spacers cnc'd. Price will stay the same. Turns out the increased cost of the SS is offset by the cnc'd parts coming in a bit less than I projected.

I'm guessing they'll be done sometime next week.

I just found out that these parts are projected to get done Oct 3. Just FYI for anyone waiting on these.

I finally got the parts yesterday.....wow...what a disappointment. They made the caliper spacers in mild steel. At first I told them I could live with this as long as I paid for mild steel.....but I've since emailed them saying I want them done correctly in SS since that's what I ordered. I should find out later today how that turns out.

Also...the bearing spacers weren't cut right. I was surprised at how cheap they were to have made. I found out why yesterday. They made an assumption that I didn't need the OD turned....so they left it unfinished. 18 of the parts have a bad spot in the ID where it wasn't completely cut. They didn't ask about tolerances and just assumed that anything within .006" was okay. So, I spent an hour and a half yesterday working on the OD. I still have to do the final finish, but I need to recut a lot of the ID's since they're up to .005" too small. That would make it extremely hard to get onto the spindle. I'm a bit more than annoyed! It's partly my fault for assuming they were going to try to hold a +/- .001 tolerance on all surfaces and not specifying it. I'm having a hard time understanding how they assumed such a loose tolerance was okay when I gave them dimension out to 3 decimal points. I've been told that they'll be twice as much next time. They basically made me really expensive washers. Okay....enough ranting. It's just one more check mark in the "PITA doing this" column. LOL

Wow! That's pretty rough. I've been waiting to do a writeup for this mod, but I have no brake lines. I may just decide to render the whole thing in 3D, since that might be faster than waiting for ClassicTube to send me my lines...

You're more than welcome guys. Thanks for the appreciation :)

The cutter said they're going to do them in SS asap, but I'm not expecting them for a week, maybe two. I've also ordered in another 10 rotor(5 sets) and they'll show up on saturday. I think I'm about done working on the house trying to get things finished/prepped before the bad weather hits.......so hopefully, I can dedicate some shop time to getting caught up in there. :)

I'd love to see a 3D drawing of your brake lines. I've posted some of the CAD work I've done on ratsun. It's like fabricating without the dirt and noise :)
