I have been working on the project it's just that my iPhone is not playing nice with my computer and can't seem to get pictures from one to the other. So I emailed the pictures to myself and here goes, maybe this is a good thing as it seems to go easier.

I like your idea about the chase for the electrical lines. Wish I thought of that before I buttoned mine back up. I'll just have to send the electrical wires underneath the carpet.

I've been waiting for your next post. Can't wait to see the finished car!

Now with the floorboards tacked in, I need to finish off the transition from the floorboards to the rear shelf.

I'm kind of where your at with the seats, being on this site is a mixed bag as before I would have thought any suspension high back seat would look great in just about anything. Now dare I cut them down??

I like low back seats in roadsters. I think that low windshield cars are ugly with high back seats.

Ak,

I couldn't be happier with my decision to cut the seats down. The mix of lowered seat backs and modified rear back deck lid, to close off the space between the seats and the trunk to the convertible top, look great together. I can't wait to get them back from the upholstery shop to see how the fabric turned out. Of course my wife keeps reminding me if we get rear ended our heads will break off, but I assure her if we get in an accident we most likely wont make it out anyway. haha.

My low windshield roadster has miata seats with extra low adjustable head seats, and they fit well by the car.

+ 1 for looks with low windshields, I might be prejudice though. Sid likely does not like the looks of a roll bar ... oh well

See this is what I mean this site is rubbing off on me and I'm not sure I like it :D

Mshort07, Yea get your done and I'll see what I want to do with mine, problem is in Alaska I need a soft top so there is no covering my rear shelf like you did. However making a sunshine only car does have it's benefits... I wouldn't mind having the doors cut down 3 or 4 inches for the perfect left arm rest. Seating in the high but COZY seats the bar brace is at the perfect height, and yea maybe some engine noises were made....

So answer me this low back seat with roll bar owners: how do you keep from ringing your bell on the roll bar? If I cut down the seat (complete head rest) to be level with the side of the car then I can't see how I could run a roll bar with out at least a pad on the bar.

I am with Sid, I love the look of the roadster without headrests or roll bars.

The only reason I have a roll bar is because it's the only way I could run the car on a racetrack. As you can see, my helmet would surely hit the roll bar:

For comfort and "safety" though I would keep your current seats and rollbar in place. You've got a bezerk hot-rod so I'd place those two over "looks".

I try really hard to only have the roll bar in when I am also planning to use the seat and helmet. If you are dead set on the roll bar, keep something in there to keep your head safe.. like a tall seat.

Guess the beauty of the seats/roll bar is that it can easily be taken out nothing permanent, maybe two sets of seats as I'm also liking the minimalist/clean look as well.

Alvin / Mike

What specs are your roll bars for driving on the track?
