I walked out into the garage and called her a dirty name then appoligized put the trans tunnel carpet on then relized I forgot the jute. Installed the Jute and carpet then relized I didn't retapp the six console holding captured nuts. Uninstalled the jute and carpet drilled and tapped the holes got stainless screws for that threaded...called her a dirty name and turned off the lights..appoligized this AM on my way to work and will install Jute, carpet and console tonight..next up is weather stripping yay I would rather have my eye lids taped open and be squirted with mace..I make such a mess but I watched a classic car show with the dude with that handel bar stash and they had a segment on weather stripping so I will follow that advice..hopefully Saturday or Sunday...then rest of carpet kit and seats and ta da almost done...

I'll put some pics up once I get some on my new Galixy phone.

don't you love that when it happens - I was happily attaching the tranny to the engine - when Linda commented - aren't you supposed to put the plate between the tranny and the engine - 'of course' I said as I detached tranny from the engine - 'just checking on your observational skill set' <G>

I just about finished the process of prepping the car to pull the old engine. HOPEFULLY the only thing that would prevent the engine being pulled right now is the shift lever. And I am not sure what I am going to do about that one: my hands are too bloody big to get to the nut that holds this part. :-(

Help! Lol

You know the best part of pulling a motor when it is 35-40 degrees out? You don’t feel the cuts on your hands until you go to mark a part bag and get blood on the pen and/or bag.

Today we are getting our fifth rain storm this winter....sigh

60ish degrees out, pushed it out of storage and tested out the new fuel pump. It starts right back up now that the check valve works, and no leaks. Unfortunately I drove it back in to storage because the ground is too soft to drive to the street. I also adjusted the newly installed fan temperature switch, works like a charm.

Repacked all front wheel bearings.
Lubed front suspension.
Repainted clock bezel

Put everything back together.
No time today for a test drive to bed in the pads - Later this week.

Curtis and I layed out the EZWiring mini 20 harness I bought. Looks like it is going to work with his knowledge and experience guiding the way (and doing a lot of the work, thanks Curtis! Using up my Roadster Carma!). The fuse box itself is a bit tall but will be up and out of the way but accessable when eventually installed in the drivers foot well, left inner fender. My job is to cannibalize the dash light harness from the stock harness and locate an ignition switch. Mine was long ago located to the console, so I need to see if I can find one off the '68 I have or if I salvaged one off the 67.5 1600 I had for parts years ago. I understand that the later version was wider than the early due to the difference in the stearing column, so I may need to modify one. I plan to get an aftermarket ignition switch from a company Curtis has found, once I get the mount figured out. Time to dig in the old parts boxes! If anyone has a housing (preferably 67.5, but later is ok too) let me know... I may need it!

After Greg left I spent some more time laying out the harness. Cut the zip ties and made a total spaghetti mess before I straightened it back out. While the harness will save us bunch of time it does not have good documentation with it in my opinion. You do not want to pull any of the fuses out without first making a note of them or taking a picture because there is nothing to tell you what fuse goes where for amp rating. At least nothing that I found so far.

One good thing is I won't have to do the splices for the rear harness as the wires come pretty much ready to go. They do give you any wire for ground circuits. EZ is less expensive but you have to add some things in.

He's got more circuits than we can possibly use.

@tim - unscrew the shifter plate and remove all - you should be able to get at the lower bolt (using a stubby wrench) through the now exposed hole. Then unscrew the shift lever (I think a 12 or 13mm wrench will fit the indentation at the base of the shifter)
