Well I removed a header with relative ease (loosened motor mount some and floor jack to the oil pan) yest, and painted it today.
The old boy is showing some age at about 40 or so. Ten bucks for the ceramic paint.
I'll post the before after I turn this over (paint too wet).

It needs to be baked in the barbeque. 30 minutes at 600 degrees is the last cycle.

I'm not the shy type, I will likely let you know the good and the bad
about the 10 dollar spay can after baking it on per instructions.
Say one year from now or so unless it goes to heck before that.

I installed my new mechanical oil pressure gauge. For esthetics only stewart warner still working after all these years.
But color and ring not good of old gauge not close to oem electrical so ...
Needed one with chrome trim .

It looks like this: A little to light to be like the oem.
Might find a different one, do not tell my wife!

The mounting bracket for this gauge (VDO) was poor too.
Really poor so I spent too much time configuring my old SW
water temp bracket to work.

Oh well ... no risk no gain ...

Color wise I expected this ...
Take your chances with internet shopping...
I was too harsh on the VDO color, with the flash at an angle the color is close to oem.
The bracket for mounting still sucks though.

Took the car out to Kevin's place a couple weeks ago where he took care of a noisy pilot bushing (which is WAAAY more work than it sounds) and he also took the time to install a stainless fuel tank that we picked up a while back so now he can put the tank back in his car. Thanks Kevin!

Interesting wall of grills and RHD dashes

Yesterday afternoon/evening I made a new right front pod for my 67.[attachment=0]image.jpg[/attachment] It took me about three hours. I purchased three panels from Rallye, but elected to make this one myself as I have a number of other interior pieces.

Nice job on the patch panel. That looks to be hard one to make.

What's the details on the tank?

The original out of the car had already been sealed a few times so we figured it was best to replace it and since we were trying the get the car ready for Solvang then we picked up this stainless unit that Kevin found on Ebay. It was already modified for the SR20 with the fuel pump installed (but no sending unit) so getting it in the car was pretty straight forward. Ebay seller's name is "Badhobt" and I believe he is part of the The Z Garage in Valencia. Kevin thinks they had the tank made for the Roadster they were installing a Chevy drive train in but for some reason the project stalled.

That's all I know about it other than it fits nice and works great!

I installed a passenger side floor panel in my '67. I had made it up previously and had to just do some final fitting and weld it in. I elected to make my own because I could see that the ones commercially built needed a lot of work to fit them along the transmission tunnel. I was able to save the main cross channel so it will be strong enough being flat.I primed it gray before welding it in but on the back side of the sides where it welds against the existing metal I used weld through primer. Yesterday I welded in place the replacement front right pod that I had built Sunday. It fit well.
