Agreed and way ahead of you.

Unfortunately, when I registered it in my name, I had to take generic plates. California has paused all personalized and custom plates due to Covid. I haven't checked in a couple of months, but that is on my list...

So cool.
Would love to go for a spin. I have cousins in Fresno can meet when its cooler!

What a freakin' sleeper!

ps did I miss the exhaust routing?
Thanks.
Still have a few bugs to work out and some things to tidy up.

Exhaust is 2 1/2 with some 2 1/4 sections. No resonator, single 2.5" Yonaka muffler at the gas tank. It runs behind the oil pan and down the drivers side, under the rear axle. It is through the frame. I cut the bottoms out of where the stock pipe was and then welded 1/4" plate overlapping the opening where the exhaust runs.

Yes, today is cooler but humid. It's only 102 today. Lol. It has been like this for weeks and it sucks. The cooler in the garage looses effectiveness at about 98 or with high humidity.

Tuning is still going on. I uploaded another tune today and ran it and sent the datalog back to the tuner. We are on revision 12 but there were a few before we started numbering them. So, probably 15-16. Fuel looks good, VTC good, and the next tune should have the VTEC enabled. Finally!!!!!! I have been anxious to see how much power it adds.

I will eventually get it to a tuner, probably Blacktrax.

Anyway, love to hang out either when I come up there or you come down here. Or at a gathering of some sort.

I'll put a feeler out to the local group for fun run. OMG the VTEC will be so cool. I think you will be more than happy with the results. Are you using the 50 degree VTC intake cam gear or stock?

Stock VTC gear. Was trying not to get into the valvetrain. Because as long as I have the timing chain off, I may as well replace the cams...

From what I was led to believe, the 50 degree VTC gear will improve midrange but is not worth all the work unless you already have it apart. Not sure if that is correct or not.

Either way, I think I have enough power for now.

After putting the grille on, I had a high temp on my last tuning run. I will make another run today or tomorrow so I will have to see what happens. Mind you, the hood is still off of it.

Thermostat is opening. Normally a solid 190. Fan hardly ever has to kick on but it does when it needs to. I am keeping an eye on this whole situation and may need to add a manual fan switch. I think I have one available on my dash.

You are in the best place for hot weather tuning :D With any engine swap you'll have teething/sorting to do...it still must feel great to have the world's first running K-swap!

Yeah, if it can stay cool here, it can be driven anywhere.
We are supposed to drop below 100 on thurs, fri, sat. I might have to wear a jacket. lol.

Didn't realize I was the first. I guess the others are the S2000 motors.

I did another drive today. The tune is getting better each time. Pulls right through 7500 RPM. Had I gone for the K20, it could have been even higher. But, I like torque more than revs...

Anyway, I need to get back on my wheel search. I need to get those Spriso brakes on there.

Thanks.

I think you'll like and be much quicker with the considerably higher torque at a much lower rpm vs the K20. The K20 has a bigger hp number only because it spins to 8000, but a lot less torque at a very high 6000rpms.

I'd say you'll need those brakes! Have a blast man!

I think I found some wheels.
I ordered one to see if it will fit. I guess they custom drill the lug holes after you order, so it could take a couple weeks to get here.

I wanted a higher offset and narrower wheel in the front to try and get it to tuck but this was as close as I could find without needing large spacers in the back. If you want the minilite style, then there are tons of wheel widths and offsets and you can stagger them to get the look you want. If you dont want the minilite style, then there are fewer choices unless you want to custom order wheels for $600 per wheel.

I think I saw these in the wheel thread.

If it won't fit and clear the Spriso brakes, then I will get a piece of glass and make a coffee table out of it. LOL
Fingers crossed.

Today I put a larger throttle body pulley on the car.
Previously it was hard to give it a small amount of throttle. The travel was so low from idle to WOT that it was hard to add a small amount for reverse, starting your roll, etc.

This is what I added.
CRS_4336_large.jpg
It replaced the existing throttle pulley and it made a big difference.

So much easier to drive now.
