By the way, where does the clear tube that runs from to the windshield squirters go inside the cabin. I found the tube, which is hard and I will replace, but where does it run?
I believe there is a grommet just aft of the hood latch in the firewall. Hose comes from the bag, then passes horizontal thru that grommet and into the cabin, then up thru another grommet into the vent grille area, then splits off to the squirters.
Replace those grommets if the hose is loose in them.

I don't see any advantage to doing the dash first, I'd go with heater core.

Never thought I would finish today but it took a while and some head scratching but I got my cowl drain hose installed with a new grommet

What a grade A pain. But with patience and some 3in1 oil I finally got it in

Next up is the heater core to the fire wall then the front bracket
I think I found the grommet the washer nozzle goes in
Just need to procure new hose

What a difference a day makes. I had the day off today and decided it would be a great day to install the dash. You know the dash, the thing I actually started this thread off with. I am so thoroughly pleased with the results, that I cannot wait to drive her again. Installing the dash was NOT an easy task. The biggest @@$! was the oil pressure line and the tip light on the tach. Just darn near impossible to get to with the steering column in the way. I took great time to sand and prime the key ignition module/lock when it was off the car, only to remember that the entire thing gets covered back up with the plastic on the column. Oh well if anybody gets snarky, I will say it is painted. ;)

:D :D :D :D

I am going to hook up the air ventilation plumbing next and get the cables hooked up. I am waiting for a new water cock from datsunparts at the moment. Mine was a lost cause. It would turn until I got it half way in then it would bind up something horrible. Not sure if the body is warped but both of the outlets are bent. So who knows.

I hooked up the wiring in the glove box again and testing all the functions and the motor turned over, and all the lights worked. I never was able to revive my radio though :| I will want to find another AM and get her working again. I have one last thing I can try before I call it quits, but looks like I should be able button this up in about 2 - 3 more weeks. Hopefully. Depends on if I can get another day off.

The top windshield padding will be a challenge. I am not sure what I want to do with that yet. But we will see. I have until April 22 to have this done.

The new Nardi will be shipping to me in 2 weeks. Cannot wait to see that in the car.

John B. I cannot thank you enough for encouraging me to start this and helping me along the way. Much sincere thanks sir.

Awesome job! You have officially bonded with your Roadster. Pass the knowledge you've acquired on to the next guy - you've learned a lot!

Out of curiosity
Are the bolts that hold the radio console in sae?
Reason I ask is none of my metric fasteners seem to fit and my car never had those installed when I took it apart.

Was the hose from one of the regular vendors specifically for the car or was it a "will fit" from the parts wiki on this site?

I have purchased all my parts from datsunparts.com

So they were made for the car and they fit splendidly

There she is, a new water cock in a beautiful Nissan box. I love getting parts in Nissan boxes. Makes me feel all happy in side. Plus Cadmium is probably the most Purdy color

Tomrrow I will get this in and start to trouble shoot why my flashers are not working. I have the wiring diagram for the 68, so it can only be a few things. That will be fun, but I may be driving Friday if all goes according to plan.

Car started today !!!

No leaks and the heater blew warm air!
On top of that my flashers now work (fuse) and my radio made some crackling noises through the speaker

All radio needed was a chassis ground
