He was mumbling about a Fiat at the same time he was talking about the Alpha. They might want him to install the motor in a Fiat instead of this Alpha. The Alpha had a wierd watts link which was cast aluminum. The watts link was solid mounted with no moving parts. A button on the back of the differential engaged a slot in the watts link. The button slid up and down in the slot. It looked like it would bind or wear out but I guess it works.

Its not a weird watts link, its called a sliding block. A panhard/watts link does the same thing, but is better and lighter. The sliding blocks are useless on the street as they tend to bind up and are also heavy and complicated. All the vintage race cars still have to run them since its what they ran back in the day. Alfa's have the most screwed up suspension geometry its not even funny. If you lower the front at all from stock the roll center goes below ground, and you pretty much have to lower the rear to beyond the bump stops to get even close to where you need the rear to be, the rear roll center is way high. The roadster is so much better.
